First off, I want to congratulate all the VCU fans for experiencing something magical. As a GMU alum and someone who was attending Mason during the Final Four season, words cannot express the magnitude of awesomeness that is a Final Four. Also, it helps justify the tuition expense. :D

Now I've thought long and hard about posting this, and I want to ensure all that there is zero malice intended with this post, but I feel it is vital, especially after the publicity that Pav has received, that he is in Houston.

With that said, I would like to help the cause. I am not rich by any means, but after the Sports Bog post, I realize your (Pav's) passion for VCU basketball should not go ignored. The cameras in Houston will be looking for you and it is only fair that you are present. Furthermore, I truly feel that VCU will be playing for the National Championship. I blew my wad on the Wichita State and UConn games and could not afford to travel to Indy (I was a student and had to live on Ramen and Natty Light for a month, but it was darn worth it). The same shouldn't happen for you.

Before anybody responds, let's get the Nigerian Prince joke out of the way: I don't have a long lost relative, I don't have a fortune waiting for me for $10,000, and I drive a Honda.

Pav: please PM me either here or on the Zone with a Paypal account, address, or whatever other means that is reasonable (and legit). I'm not joking either. I can't pay for your plane ticket or hotel, but at the very least I can afford a beer and a good meal. If you aren't interested, no hard feelings, and I understand.

Thanks, and I apologize if I put you on the spot (yes, a PM would have worked, but who knows, others may join in), but I figured after a Washington Post and USAToday article, your humility is calibrated just fine.

(If I'm out of line, please just ignore it. I'm not here to cause trouble, piss on anybody, or generally be a pest. This is a genuine post.)

Agreed... although I don't like to use the "c" word ;)

I already chipped in with a token donation to the VRN guys, and I splurged on some VCU gear and a tidbit for the Athletic Fund, but I'd also chip in a little bit to a Pav-fund if such a thing becomes a needed reality.

I can't make it to any of these games... even if the budget allowed it, the job situation is in a somewhat sensitive stage of development that wouldn't allow for absence... so I kind of feel like Pav is my proxy, and I can experience some of this run vicariously... after all, Pav is the only one of you folks I've knowingly met in real life, even if it was for all of maybe 20 seconds in the parking deck outside of the Siegel Center after the Wofford game

If I could, I'd help a lot more of you, but well...ya know how it is

Thanks guys, I'm just happy to be along for this magical ride. The good news, and more info will follow, is that I might not need to have a "fill the horns" style fundraiser. Once I have more definite information, I will post it here. However, it's looking good for me in Houston.

I am honored by the kind words you've said though, BravesFan and Art. It's a beautiful thing when you get to do what you love.

Also, I haven't slept in a very long time, so if none of that made sense, I apologize.

Go Rams.

Thank you, Pav. It's nice to hear that you have continued support on your journey. However, I would still like to help in some way. So I'm deciding to do something that not only is close to you, but very important. You see, although I'm not a heavily faith oriented person, I do believe that VCU had some fans looking down on them throughout this run. I also believe there were two specific fans who were leading in cheers. Yes, I'm talking about the Wheelchair Posse. When it comes to being a fan and showing support for something, these two gentlemen were relentless, inspiring, and quite frankly remarkable.

So with that said, I will be making a donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in their memory and your honor.

Good luck in Houston and safe travels.

Support Option Chosen: Research
Total Amount: $25 (I'm poor, but I try).
Sustaining Donation: No
Receipt ID: [redacted]
Card Number: [redacted]
Transaction Time: 03/28/2011 07:30:41

Pav: Since I don't have your address, and I respect anonymity on the Internet (even though your name is public), this is proof of the donation.

Good luck to all. It's refreshing to know that no matter what, a mid-major will be in the National Championship with a very realistic shot to win it all!

I want to echo those sentiments... I know we have gone at it in the past... but your passion for VCU and the class with which you guys are representing the conference has been great... I'll kick in Hilton points if you need a place to stay.. just PM me on the zone...

Pav you don't know who I am but I'm a student and I get various text messages from students at other Universities (VIRGINIA TECH) saying they love you and look forward to seeing you on TV. Which is awesome because they absolutely hate our team. With that said thanks Pav and Go Rams!

Thanks yall. I can't express enough gratitude for how much love I've felt these last few weeks. It's been magical, to say the least.

If you're looking to help, I would love for you to follow Bravesfan's example, and spread that love to one of the beautiful groups of researchers near to my heart. Please make a donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Association https://secure.mdausa.org/donate/ in honor of Ryan and Eric. Or make a donation in honor of a loved one to the VCU Massey Cancer Center http://www.massey.vcu.edu/support/?pid=2035

I love yall. Let's keep this going one more week.

Go Rams. Go CAA. Go Mid-Majors everywhere. This year, it ends with a win.

Pav you are gettng close to becoming #1 fan and receiving your wish. I will follow bravesfan with a donation of my own since I'm not going to Houston.
