The real glory is being knocked to your knees and then coming back. That's real glory. --
-Vince Lombardi

You are never really playing an opponent. You are playing yourself, your own highest standards, and when you reach your limits, that is real joy.

Champions aren't made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them -- a desire, a dream, a vision.

I am not sure, Ram it home, that we are talking about or dealing with emotions here. For me, I believe that IbleedVCU is dealing with a philosophy or a way of viewing life. To move on, as you suggest, requires that you stop for a moment and consider what is important. The quotations are thoughts that can lead to a higheer level of performance. It is good advice for our team; but it also good advice for each of us as we live our lives. And, vcubanana, you will win if you practice these quotations in your life.

Now forgive me for pontificating. Once a professor always a professor! ;)

I'm tired of hearing about money, money, money, money, money. I just want to play the game, drink Pepsi, wear Reebok.
Shaq

I fear this is what larry's mind is filled with right now. B/C his focus surely seems to be on other things than VCU basketball.

Who cares just enjoy the ride

To suggest Larry is thinking about other things beyond VCU basketball and it is affecting how he performs is ridiculous! This is the biggest year (if he decides to leave) for him and he should be working as hard as he ever has this year to solidify why he should be in the NBA. And i'm sure he is doing just that.

Way too many people on this board are talking about how he doesn't care about VCU basketball anymore. I completely disagree.

It is Interesting that neutral folks found the game to be a greatly entertaining game played on a high level by both teams.

It was a great showcase of Association basketball

I agree with that, a very entertaining game... however I and everyone else on this board knows what Larry is capable of when he gives it 100% on the court all the time. How do we wreak havoc when we jog down the court or recover on a screen we set by walking back to the man we are to defend. Basketball is as much about having good positioning on the court as anything else all I am asking for is to see some hard work being done to gain position. Larry typically isn't one of the guys I see doing that, I usually see him trying to rely on his length and athleticism instead of employing strong fundamental positioning down low.

I was thinking about this during the game, and I've concluded that because his legs and stride are so long, it only looks like he's walking.
