Top 25

Let's just pray that Sanders and KP stay out of foul trouble, that the Freshman play like Jrs or Srs and that J-Rod finds his groove at PG. OU will be a true test to how our season might progress. Even if we don't win a very competetive game would show me that we will do just fine in conference play. But I still feel like we will win.

Was Louisville ranked when they played the opening game at the STU? Great game, in that we came from a long way down to win it. :D

Louisville was not ranked at that time.

VCU has never hosted a ranked opponent at the Siegel Center.

The Rams' last win over an opponent ranked in the AP Top 25 was on Jan. 8, 1994, a 93-89 ot win at #11 Louisville. And before anybody asks, Duke had fallen out of the AP Top 25 right before we beat them in 2007.

I hope JC3 is so into the homecoming thing, that he rides around richmond with a van a picks up guys to play the game. :lol:

I noticed Minnesota is ranked #25. Didn't we beat them in the mid 70s at the Franklin Street Gym when they were ranked in the top 20?

We beat #25 ranked Long Beach State back at the coliseum in 93(?),,,Lucious Harris was on that team and coached by King Douche Seth Greenberg

maybe that's why they don't have the cobbles to play us (Cobbles is olde english slang for nuts/balls/huevos/etc)

Haha, thanks for clearing that up. That man def doesn't have the cobbles to schedule anyone with a RPI north of 300.

So have we figured out if a top 25 team has ever been to the Stu before?

Byron Russell, who played in the "League" for years was on that team also.

using the Yahoo/Rivals record of our schedules, since the 1999-2000 season, these are listed as our games against then-ranked opponents...

99-2000 - none
2000-01 - none
2001-02 - none
2002-03 - none
2003-04 - Mon, Dec 29 at (4) Georgia Tech L 65-86;
. . . . . . .Thu, Mar 18 at (17) Wake Forest L 78-79 (NCAA tourn)
2004-05 - Thu, Nov 18 at (2) Wake Forest L 67-81
2005-06 - none (although Mason was briefly ranked 25th 2 weeks after winning at the Stu)
2006-07 - Sat, Mar 17 at (12) Pittsburgh L 79-84 (NCAA tourn)
2007-08 - Sun, Nov 18 (18) Arkansas L 60-70 (listed as home team, but in Puerto Rico)
2008-09 - Sat, Dec 20 at (4) Oklahoma L 70-81 ;
. . . . . . . Thu, Mar 19 at (18) UCLA L 64-65 (NCAA tourn)

so 0-7 against the ranked over the last 10 seasons... :| but none of 'em at the Stu. They don't list seasons any further back, but any further back, and it wouldn't have been at the Stu anyway

this is just going by what is listed on the schedule/results page, without checking them against the polls at the time or anything like that... and I'm not sure which poll they're using, or if any would have been left out from the other poll
