Towson Gets Big Time Transfer

Good for them, but he might not be playing for Pat if he has another bad season.

In an interview, Dupree said the toughness of the CAA impressed him. He said he wanted to continue to play in a challenging conference and recalled how VCU, a CAA school, had defeated Maryland in a game he started his freshman season.

good for towson. glad to see that they have something to be excited about. but....

....having watched many maryland games, i honestly don't think braxton dupree is all that good of a basketball player. he is soft, slow, lazy, and has had weight issues. if he couldn't get amped to play for the terps, i just don't see how things will change for him at towson. not only that, but maryland's inside game last year was awful. all the kid had to do was practice hard and grab a few boards, and he would play. he didn't, and was even a healthy scratch on a few different occasions. the rest of their frontcourt were borderline ACC players at best, and dupree STILL couldn't crack some minutes. remember "mr. softy" travis garrison? dupree is just like him, except fatter and lazier.....and a worse j.

hey, i hope i'm wrong and he does well at towson, because we all know that it would be good for the conference, but braxton dupree is far from a big time transfer....in my opinion.

Wasn't the last player to transfer from Maryland to Towson the Jewish Jordan?

Former 4 star center coming out of high school.

Dupree "has an opportunity to be a real impact player in the [Colonial Athletic Association]," Towson coach Pat Kennedy said in a statement. "He played in an outstanding high school program." The Tigers were 12-22 (5-13 CAA) last season.

We could've had him, but we didn't think he was good enough. Gone are the days of taking a transfer just because they played at a "high-major" school (See Eric Davis). They have to show they can play a little bit too. ;)

Not too shabby....I know this sounds crazy, but Towson has some decent players coming in. They have a kid named Isaiah Philmore (PF--6-7/210) who could very easily be one of the top 5 incoming freshman in the CAA. Also have Erique Gumbs (C 6-8/235) and Nick Diatta (PF 6-8/215)....just sayin'

Towson needs a lot of development in they are going to improve. Braxton Dupree might be just the thing that Towson needs to get its engines going. It might be a good fit. We shall see.
