Towson is getting a new arena

Looks like a nice place for a lot of teams to get road-wins. Very hospitable of Towson State, kudos.

They need kick-ass floor graphics.

Like this:

Just say "no" to floor graphics... I don't even like tarting up the half court circle, although I can understand the wish to get logos on camera. There is something very pure and pleasing about a clearly and crisply marked court or playing field, but the trend has been to slap self-indulgently designed graphics all over everything, which just gives it that cheesy and desperate NASCAR look. </rant>

I actually don't mind teams' floors having a distinct look, but sometimes they go overboard.

Black court, yellow stripes.

When we have football I want a pitch black field with yellow stripes too. Don't know how this would work with uni's, but the field would be sexy :)

My eyes are bleeding.

I wish their seating capacity was greater than 5K....but better than nothing. Hopefully it will lead to them getting a decent coach and a better team.

As for Drexel....what ever happened to the armory that they were supposed to gut and renovate?

I was told that once they got into the armory, they found out it was going to be way more expensive than originally thought, which effectively killed the project. I'm told the new plan is to renovate the DAK, which would include rotating the court 90 degrees to allow for increased capacity.

Yeah, 5,000 capacity. I guess they're not planning on turning their basketball program around anytime soon.

5,000 puts them in the ballpark of CAA powerhouses Northeastern, Hofstra and Delaware.
