Troy Daniels... a spark?

i'm not sure he would even be ready (he dressed against odu) and not sure if he will be needed (rozzell has been weak from 3ball range against gmu/odu if i remember correctly). this could be a nice spark to the team if needed. or it could be me just being a complete troy daniels lover 8-)
 
I hope he doesn't play and tweak himself even more. We need him for next year with all our guards leaving, and him being able to recover should be a priority. If he does play, I hope he just comes in to close out the game from a large lead.
 
We could use another shooter right now- badly. Someone needs to step up, re-appear onto the scene, whatever...

On a side note- how about Jubuckets, The Professor, and Brandy-Ball getting the NCAA experience. Great for them, as frosh, and great for us that they can gain this experience, and further their readiness for next year and beyond. I'm looking for DJ to make a statement. He's really been coming on.

i lean this way, but again, i feel he could come in and drain a few to help out if rozzell stays in the slump. very limited minutes if any!

That's why I'm not paid to make these decisions. The coaches will do the best thing for our team!
 
If Troy can play it would be awesome. I thought we could have beaten ODU with him. He could have busted that zone right open. Dont know what type of D USC plays but it can never hurt to have another shooter if he is healthy !
 
If he can play maybe he can jump in like he did vs Hofstra and knock down a couple quick 3's. If i remember Hofstra didnt know what hit them when he came in bc they had no scouting report on him.
 
even if he could play, there is no way he will be in shape to go for more than a few minutes

If he's cleared to play, the one thing to our advantage is he brings a bit of 'unknown' to the scouting report...USC may not have him on their radar and if he plays and starts lighting it up from long range; it could get interesting.
 
I would really like to see Troy Daniels come out and say "it's the NCAA tourney and I am playing even is my leg is broken" I would like to see fire, (I am not saying he was ever soft or any such) from him and the rest of, you can not take this for granted, you have a chance take it leave everything on the court. Summer is for healing.

Gotta be awesome for Haley to make the decision to leave the Left Coast to play for VCU, and be able to beat UCLA and USC in the same season!

As to the last 2 posts, it's not a question of "will he be cleared to play" or "will he play hurt" since he dressed for the ODU game, he was obviously cleared to play already....

Yeah, he dressed and warmed up which makes it obvious, and somewhere in the paper or on the athletics website it was mentioned that he was cleared to play. The game will take place about 10 days after he was cleared to play so I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him play for a few mins at least.

VCU coach Shaka Smart said guard Troy Daniels may be cleared to begin practice and could play in the postseason.

The sophomore broke his foot during a game in late January and had a pin inserted during surgery.

“He’s been working out, shooting and stuff,” Smart said. “He doesn’t look like he’s moving like he’s 100 percent.”

“If he practices,” Smart said, “he definitely would be available to play.”.
