Former VCU star Brandon Inge's eight-game hitting streak is the longest to start a season by a Tiger since Rondell White had an eight-gamer in 2005.

Brandon started hot last season, then fell off after the All Star break. Let's hope he stays healthy and continues the streak for many more games.

3B Brandon Inge takes a season-starting, nine-game hitting streak into Detroit's weekend set at Seattle, the longest by a Tiger to begin a season since OF Juan Encarnacion hit in the first 11 games in 1998. Inge doubled in the second inning Wednesday to extend the streak. He is tied for the American League lead with six doubles.
