Title says it all. UAB watch party at Home Team Grill (Both Locations). Tip is scheduled for 8 p.m. EST.

HTG will have 2-3 Black & Gold Specials, including appetizers and entrees. Happy Hour runs until 7 p.m. if you're in the mood to pregame. VCU Bombs (I have no idea what's in them, but I'm sure I'm missing out) will also be available.

HTG is not a frat boy/redneck bar...simply just a sports bar with good, yet overpriced, food and drinks and a lot of TVs in a good location. just an opinion though...
 
i have wandered into much more serious redneck & preppy places than HTG and still managed to never wear pink or drive a pickup...wait I do drive a pickup truck. :shock:
 
It's worse than you could imagine. The rednecks and frat boys have joined forces at HTG. They start a fraternity called I Tappa Keg. :D
 
For the Frat Boy scene one must go to Baja Bean Co... man that place sucks!

Redneck scene... there are a ton of places around Richmond, but probably the most redneckish was a place in the Southside, on Hull Street, named Talons. That place was crazy redneck. Also Rock Falls Tavern on Forest Hill.

HTG has a pretty "average" crowd.

dude that place is crazy redneck. before i moved out of richmond i crashed with a buddy for a few months who lived near there. out of curiosity, we wandered in there one night and there were all these 40/50 year olds with name tags on. we asked what was going on and they told us they were the "richmnond meet club", a singles group. they had it all. feathered hair, mullets, stone washed jeans with high heels, porn staches. it was simply incredible. like something out of an early 80's low budget porno.

I have been there a few times to watch a buddy of mine play the drums for a 90's rock cover band. They played there a lot b/c rednecks enjoy the Collective Soul and STP covers. But if JacksonWard thinks HTG is redneck he needs to go to Rock Falls.

Another redneck bar I've been to is up here on the outskirts of Nova. Long story short I moved up here during a snow storm last year (well the week after snowpocalypse) and Directv couldn't hook my cable up they day I moved in. I had to wait two weeks and my wife and I stumbled into MVP Bar and Grill in Gainesville, VA to watch VCU take on Akron (again) in the BB. Everyone looked at us like "who the heck are these folks," when we walked in. It was like 2 in the afternoon and everyone was drunk and gambling on a game called "Silver Strike," the bowling version of "Golden Tee." It was 20 degrees outside and everyone was huddled at the door to the patio so they could smoke. Worst bar ever!!! Rock Falls has the same feel though :)

Well paint it pink and come on.

Talons is gone now, but you are right though. I spent about 5 min in there one time.
