Found this on the USA Today website. When did Hofstra become a "traditional" contender?

Old Dominion returns five starters from a team that won 14 of its last 16 last season, including winning the CollegeInsider.com tournament. The Monarchs are blessed with major size for a mid-major, with a frontcourt of Gerald Lee (6-10), Frank Hassell (6-8) and Ben Finney (6-5). Northeastern returns four starters, including senior guard Matt Janning, a two-time all-conference selection. Also in the hunt will be defending champ Virginia Commonwealth and traditional contenders George Mason and Hofstra.
