With the seeming decline in importance given to RPI, maybe tracking our out of conference opponents shouldn't concern us all that much... yet, perhaps there is a compulsion to keep tabs anyway...
an O.O.C.- O.C.D., if you will/
---------------------------------
here's who we've got (names link to that team's schedule page on Yahoo/Rivals)

Bethune-Cookman Wildcats
W. Michigan Broncos
Oklahoma Sooners
Hampton Pirates
Nevada Wolf Pack
Rhode Island Rams
the ticks
Tulane Green Wave
East Carolina Pirates
T.B.D. - E.S.P.N. Bracket Busters
-----------------------------------

so far in the early season, we've got...
Sooners win vs. Mt.St. Mary, 95-71
ticks beat Lehigh, 65-53
Tulane lost to visiting Georgetown, 58-74
ECU beat UVa-Wise, 77-60
and we know how BCU did 8-)

plus Hampton playing now, and Nevada later today...

Hampton falls to LaSalle out of the A-10 by 3 points, 83-80. We should not take Hampton lightly by any means. LaSalle is a preseason top 4 A-10 team. That and losing to them the last time we played them at their place and I'm sure our guys will want to make a statement when we play them.

Nevada beats Montana State 75-61 behind Luke Babbitt's 26 points. Babbitt joined 3 other Wolfpack players in double-figures.

We shouldnt take any team lightly but just because Hampton kept it close doesnt mean they will be any good.

as we all probably know, BCU got waxed by Norfolk, 38-69
Western Mich falls at Detroit, 80 - 86
ECU routed at home by Wake, 58-89

oof-and-3 on the day

Mon, 11/16

as already well reported here, the ticks wallop visting VMI, 103-59. Apple sauce was enjoyed heartily by many of those still awake at halftime.

only one OOCer making any noise in the polls, that of course being the Sooners, who hover in at #17 in both polls .... and btw&fwiw, VCU again gets 2 'also' votes in the Nov. 16th AP poll, the same as in Nov. 2nd's season opening poll... ODU also maintains its one vote.

Man, i'm sorry, but the CAA so far looks sad, and not a two or three bid league at all.
I know theres a lot of B Ball left, but things don't look so good.

Go Rams! Beat WMU and OU...

as a helpful reminder to any and all users and readers of this thread,
"O.O.C." stands for "Out Of Conference"

;)

oh, don't beat yourself up banana, after all, J.Ward did kinda lead ya there :geek:

as for Tues, 11/17, by my count there are 4 ooc-foe games tonight

Bethune-Cookman, already on its 3rd game of the season may be poised to get a 'w' ...although it seems to be playing an individual... the Wildcats lead visiting Edward Waters... yes, that's what it said... 37-19 at the half

also from the MEAC, Hampton is hosting Iona, and is down by around 5 late in the 1st half

East Carolina traveled to Campbell, and is up by 1 at the half

Just getting under way, JC3 and the home-standing Sooners take on Louisiana-Monroe

to be continued

Louisiana-Monroe is putting up a fight against Oklahoma in Norman, leading most of the half but the Sooners pulled ahead by 3 points at halftime. 27-24 score.

Is it possible for Capel to drive a van around downtown norman and find 5 guys to play basketball? Can't imagine there are that many people in downtown norman.
