Joined Lakeside few years ago and rarely play anywhere else. Maybe this Spring I can host ramnation invitational.
Bring plenty of golfballs.Yikes. A couple of external organs just sucked themselves up into my body.
Oh I always do, but if I ever play there you can be sure that what you've told me will lead to the first four holes being played with balls from the bottom of my bag rather than the new ones.Bring plenty of golfballs.![]()
Why do you think the Squirrels put out such a harsh statement to make it seem like the partnership is permanently severed? My guess is VCU will play all home day games at the Diamond this season and move to CarMax Park next season, which is what I have heard since last August. If they play any games at CarMax Park this year, my guess is it would be the UVA game and the Flying Squirrels would use that game as a “dry run” for staff before the Flying Squirrels season opener.
Mason doesn't even have VCU on the baseball schedule at all.My guess is VCU will play all home day games at the Diamond this season and move to CarMax Park next season, which is what I have heard since last August. No.Mason doesn't even have VCU on the baseball schedule at all.
Would that have anything to do with all of the above,?
I like where this thread is going lolJoined Lakeside few years ago and rarely play anywhere else. Maybe this Spring I can host ramnation invitational.
That I have no clue. Why do you think the Squirrels put out such a harsh statement to making it seem like the partnership is permanently severed?

Sounds like a lot of pettiness and ego.I have no inside source or knowledge.... but My guess is..... someone our side tried to push the envelope too much.
The Squirrels probably wanted to be the first event at the new stadium (especially since, they're the ones that's going to be maintaining the stadium, on a daily basis)... and wanted VCU to start their season at the Diamond until after the opening Weekend of the Squirrels at the Diamond.
Someone on our side wanted to be the first event at Carmax park..... since our baseball season starts before the Squirrels do..... and probably tried to push too much to get the squirrels to let us be the first event at the stadium..... so they told us to FK Off.
This whole scenario is interesting & kinda funny if you ask me.....
On one hand.... the Squirrels have every right to wanna be the first event at the new stadium. They are the ones who pay people to maintain it on a day to day basis.
On the other hand.... it's ironic cause The Squirrels/Braves/City of Richmond have been asking for a new stadium FOR DECADES..... and one could argue..... that if it wasn't for this VCU Athletic Village construction project idea/talks for the last however many years.... and VCU & the Squirrels partnering together (at least in the beginning)....
We may not be talking about "CarMax Park" right now.
I am not sure the field would have been built without VCU's input. I get texts all the time about VCU having issues with money these days. I usually respond with....really? Oh well. That is above my pay grade and not my problemSounds like a lot of pettiness and ego.
And from my understanding, the Squirrels didn't finance the stadium right? So why do they get so much say in how it's used. Again, I don't know the ins and outs of much of this, but once this state of the art stadium is completed I would assume the City of Richmond would have zero problems getting a new tenant if the Squirrels are unhappy and decided to bounce.
I dont see how VCU playing at Carmax would not benefit everyone.I am not sure the field would have been built without VCU's input. I get texts all the time about VCU having issues with money these days. I usually respond with....really? Oh well. That is above my pay grade and not my problem![]()
