VCU Attendance - Top 100 Nationally

Gotta think those CBI games hurt our numbers a bit since we had like 3 games at home that were probably half-full. Either way, not bad numbers, but definitely could be better. We had one of the best home schedules we've ever had and an NBA first-rounder so I'm a bit disappointed our numbers weren't higher. We just have to keep building the program and they will come.

6,000 average is 80% capacity. Even if we sold out every game, our attendance average would be 7,500. If we were to draw a team like UCLA or Duke or Pittsburgh to Richmond, the stipulation might be that the game be played at the Coliseum. Then it would count as a neutral site game, technically, and wouldn't be counted towards our attendance numbers.

Don't mind me, I'm just thinking out loud.

Also I agree with the CBI games pulling our attendance average down. If you take away the games against Charleston, Boston University and Saint Louis, you'd be looking at an attendance average around 6300 or so. Also don't forget the game against Georgia State where the roads were iced over and travel for many people was treacherous if not impossible.

The key is in the who. If we were to draw a team like UCLA or Duke or Pittsburgh, then we would be able to do a good job filling the Coliseum.

We only drew around 4,000 at the Siegel Center when we played Pitt a few years ago.

?????
We never played Pitt at home..at least in the last 10 years. The last time we played them was in the NCAA tournament.
