I am glad to see so many of us passionately discussing VCU Basketball. While we do not and most likely never will agree on all topic, I think the one thing that we can all agree upon is that VCU Basketball is finally back and now relevant again!

Only when a program has a passionate fan base can it improve. We have more donors than we have had in a while, we are starting to regualarly sell out the Siegal Center, and fans are starting to travel.

All we need now is to donate more monies to the Athletic Department and we should move up a step or two.

I really believe with our natural advantages over most schools in the CAA we can dominate this league.

Keep up the good work all.

Seconded. Ignore the clique of clowns.

We've got a lot of things working for us and a lot of resources. We've also got plenty of room for improvement, but we have the resources to improve if everyone does their job...including us as fans/donors.

since you agree with the original post, maybe you can answer my question....the program is finally back from where? if you want to call names because i'm confused as to where our program has gone, and why it has finally come back as of 2/11/10, have at it.....but it is a legit question in the context of this conversation.

As always (well mostly) I agree with Wheat. We're back? I'm pretty sure we were "back" when we started to win with Capel circa 2004.

How is anyone on this thread not getting along? Just looking for some clarification is all! How is being in 5th place today after being a legit contender for the past 5-6 years now considered being "back"?

With all due respect did you forget that we 1. Lost to Wake Forest by 1 in 2003-04, Beat Duke in 2006-07, Lost by 1 to UCLA in 2008-09?

So I wonder also...Was it gone?

Or we could take up a collection and buy a whole bunch of foam bats, initiate a debatable topic, then commence beating each other senseless until the issue is resolved.
 
hey, like i said before, i think just about everyone on here is great. there's pretty much nothing anyone could say that would make me get mad on a message board. that said, i think my question was legit. two people in this thread think that vcu basketball was dead, and is now back. i'm curious as to why they think that.


(that, and if you haven't noticed, i like busting some balls every now and then)


as for the ramnation party, i think i'll stay here in the midwest. i hear the winters back east are just brutal. ;)

It was gone when J.D. left and started to climb Mac's last year, higher with Capel (people tend to forget how he did his last year though). And Grant was here when it really exploded. If you don't think VCU basketball is back from the depths of heck then you obviously came on board after 2004. You would have given a left knut to have the record we have now and have beaten the quality of teams we have beaten this year, back then. Now in all reality the bar is set so high we are dissapointed in this years performance, which in turn a light bulb went off in Rammed's head that we are back. I get the mental picture of the movie Major League, in the begenning of the movie where there are 500 fans that hate the team, thats what we are back from. Not all posts started outside of the clique are stupid.
