Who would win between the following teams?

2. SPI-DA1 - Kendrick Warren, Kenny Harris, Jesse Pellot-Rosa, Danny Kottak, Eric Atkins, Michael Anderson, Rodney Ashby, Emanuel Mathis

or

8. Natty - Larry Sanders, Nick George, Chris Cheeks, Tom Motley, Dave Edwards, Jay Gavin, Neil Wake, Joey Rodriguez

Why do I think my team, U Natty, wins this game? I think we control the glass in this one in a major way...

Between Sanders, Motley, and Nick (if I go small) or Neil Wake (if I wanna go big, and play major D...) I just don't think his team grabs a single board.

I also got Cheeks who is a scoring machine (has a higher career scoring average, 20.2, than all but one other Ram...Charles Wilkins)...And Nick George can absolutely take over if you need him to do that, but he is also just scrappy and full of heart and hustle.

Dave Edwards is one of VCU's all time great assists men (#5 all time)...averaged and INSANE 8.47 in 71-72...heck, did they even have a shot clock then? Even more impressive...

I like my teams chances in this one.

Here are some videos you are welcome to check out as well...

and for fun...you gotta see this Italian league highlight of a Nick George oop...GREAT play calling on this one

Natty gets my vote on Neil Wake alone. I'm still laughing about that draft pick, very well done.

Wow! A stupendous matchup. Natty's team is put together well. A front line of Larry, Nick and Tom Motley. Holy Moley! THEN you have Dave Edwards and Joey to get the ball in these guy's hands and Dead Eye Dick from the outside in the form of Jay Gavin. The thought of putting together a gameplan to stop this team would make an assistant coach go drive a porcelain bus. And how do you score inside against this team? The only weakness I can see would possibly be the perimeter defense.

So you think Natty's team is invincible? Not so fast my friend. Can you imagine what an inside outside threat KW and Kottak would be? Awesome, baby! Throw in Nice and Rodney Ashby into the frontline rotation and you have absolutely a fantastic front court. THEN add Mr. Heart and Hustle, I'm speaking of none other than JPR himself. I would have to think that down low this game would be a war. No prisoners. Last team standing wins. Other than Mr. Pellot-Rosa the outside is questionable here, both defensively and offensively.

So who wins? How does any VCU fan vote against Kendrick or for that matter against JPR? This one almost isn't any fun. I made my choice. Good luck to you guys in figuring this one out.

Did I mention if I lose I'm taking my ball home with me and SHUTTING THIS MOFO DOWN FORRRREEEEEVVVVVVVEERRRRR!!!!

(I'm kidding...vote your heart)

As mentioned Natty's team is very diverse with inside/outside talent. That being said it is also one of the youngest teams in the draft (sophmore and junior point guards, etc.). Experience and court collectiveness plays a factor in this one as the game wears on keeping SpiDa1's team within striking distance until late. Despite heroic performances by Warren and Pella Rosa, Natty's team prevails with a game leading assist total by Edwards and solid performances by Cheeks, George, and Sanders.

Unless Ashby plays another miracle game a la Louisville, I see Natty's team winning this one. The teams match up pretty well in the front court, but Cheeks, Edwards, J-Rod and Gavin are too good and deep to beat in the back court. No one is close to Cheeks and Edwards for the opposition.

Natty has a great team but in my defense...the inside out game is going to kill him...everyone is going to lock down on Kendrick leaving Jesse and Kenny Harris (both some of the best deep ball shooters VCU has seen) free to hit the easy two or open three....Michael Anderson is going to play clean up man all day because of the double team on KW....at the end of the game we give it to Emanuel Mathis with his .882 average at the free throw line to keep the game under control and out of reach.. A hard fought game but a litte bit too much for Natty at the end....whew a very good... :ugeek: :ugeek: :ugeek:

With all due respect to Kendrick...we only need one player to lock down on him, and he goes by "THE LANDLORD".

Kendrick was incredibly athletic...but Larry is incredibly athletic in a 6'11, 230lb 7'7 wingspan frame.

He's seen heads up action against #1 overall pick Blake Griffin...he's ready for Kendrick.

Notice that Team Ramdom's stud, Tyron McCoy, appears often in that video. He certainly got Kendrick some easier shots. ;)

SPI-DA1....repost that last one...I was trying to reply but sometimes I accidentaly hit "edit" instead of "quote" (I'm not used to having moderator powers)...and I accidentally deleted your post.

LOL while the landlord is taking care of the Athlete ....Michael slips in for the rebound kicks it out to Kenny Harris and BAM!!....3 pointer babby and then the cycle begins again....you know I had to talk junk....lol :ugeek: :ugeek: :ugeek:

Kendrick would have Sanders in foul trouble in the first 5 minutes. Saunders is a non-factor in this game, but still trying to decide. And the difference, Kendrick would have a 2-3 points every time he was fouled becaue he would be slamming it down Larry's throat. I still love Larry, but apples and oranges there.

That is very true ....but you have to be able to run the floor to get in position for those types of dish offs...this just reinforces how good of an athelete Warren was ... :ugeek: :ugeek: :ugeek:
