Since it's so close and what not, why not have one thread solely dedicated to the inevitable? Here is to VCU Rams Football and in the words of Norwood yesterday, "VCU will likely have football in ten years."

That "gold" is coming across kind of army green. Can we see it on a VCU yellow-gold, or a black helmet?

Otherwise the big horn is sexy on a helmet, well done good pokemon.

I think the alternate VC baseball logo looks good on the side of a helmet too, as would the old school V logo.
 
I would rather black helmets and if we did I would like to see them use the same material/texture that VT used in their most recent pro-combat uniforms

When I used to create VCU on EA Sports NCAA Football I would always make the home jerseys all black with a VCU gold (school bus yellow) helmet. Those unis were nice... I can't wait, football has never seemed closer.
 
Within 10 years.. Considering cost and time to build a new stadium or remodel an old one, along with recruiting and setting up for more woman's sports, it'll probably happen in the later end of that range. Can't wait though! It's gonna be great!

Oh, and was wondering, how long did it take ODU to do studies and get their program up and running?
 
I would be surprised if we don't announce creating a football program within the next 2 years. The success of ODU and the stadium expansion of JMU is really pushing this issue to the front. If we don't get football, we will be left behind in conference realignments and will be forever a small time program.
I have done a 80 page feasibility study of starting a football program at VCU and have sent it to the Executive Athletic Director. I will get it online within the month and hope to get a grass roots support group.
My scenario went like this........
Winter 2011 - Study football
Summer 2011 - Announce creation of football
2012 - General Assembly passes bill to build VCU football stadium on the boulevard
2013-2014 - Stadium is built on the boulevard in place of the diamond, the new diamond is also built
* I call for a 30,000 stadium to be built
Why?
1) ODU had to turn away season tickets
2) Cheaper to build a 30K stadium right away
3) Allow us to move into the FBS by meeting stadium requirements
4) Show everyone where VCU is going
Fall 2014 - Start football as independent
Fall 2016 - Join CAA
 
I'd like to see two helmets, actually, kinda like how Washington State has theirs set up. Gold helmets with black jerseys at home, black helmets with gold jerseys on the road (Kent State uses gold jerseys for road games, so I don't see why we can't).

But that's just me.

I wouldn't be surprised if the "studies" were already complete. ;) ;)
 
Well if this football thing does come true I guess we need to start keeping an eye on the assistant coaches down at Florida.
