I simply cannot believe that our coach did not look in-depth at the rest of one of our 10 non-conference opponent's schedules and take the time to do the math about their potential record, taking into account various statistically-based projections, and then commit it all to memory, before making an impromptu statement after a game.
That lack of attention to picayune detail shows a startlingly troubling sense of priorities, and clearly and absolutely illustrates a willingness to accept failure.
Such a damaging, and frankly damning, statement can be spouted off in mere moments, but thankfully we have watchdogs willing to selflessly take the time to comb through it all, even days later, and tell truth to power. That these brave guardians of truth would do this in the face of two victories, when others might simply enjoy and look forward, is a testament to their conviction. Kudos.

The Ken Pomeroy (who some on here swear by) has Wofford going 18-11 (though the math is wrong on his projected final record http://kenpom.com/team.php?team=Wofford 
) prior to their tournament. Of course, everybody in the Southern Conference has to win their tournament to get to the NCAAs.
How likely or unlikely they'll win 20 games should be based on what a person knows about Wofford, what they know about the rest of the Southern Conference in addition to knowledge based on how these teams/players performed last season with consideration to roster changes, injuries, improvements, regressions in the current season.
I'm comfortable admitting I don't study the Southern Conference much so I can't advance an informed opinion about how the rest of Wofford's season will play out.

His math isn't wrong. Each game is done on an individual level of probability. The projected record is based on the cumulative probability of winning each game. They don't necessarily have to equal each other. His "real" projected record is 15-14 and your record is 18-11 based upon each individual games prediction. I think 15-14 is attainable for this Wofford team. I just don't see how a 15-14 team is a "big, big win" for our team. I think the "20+ win" exaggeration was thrown out there to try and convince us that it was. I could see UCLA potentially being a 20 win team, but not anyone else we've beaten so far. Drexel, George Mason, and ODU all have potential to be 20 win teams. Wofford though?

I can tell you that it was a real challenge to glean the true breadth of this thread while having the first 2 "authors" on my ignore list...it was a real "Scavenger Hunt for Ignorance" kind of thing.
