VCU Media Mentions

Buddy's is just down the block. A U of R hangout. Plus, there is a wine & cheese place just up Sheppard.
is buddy's really the fur hangout it used to be me? a lot of my vcu friends, reject graduates and currently enrolled, go there. I like it

Ollie’s Ritz, toughest place in town. Across the street was the Rainbow if I recall correctly.
Yep…never went down there without a posse …lot of tough love on grace street as well. Tough times made tough men

Idk how I’ve not seen this before

It started when we beat Dayton for the A10 tournament championship. Saturday after the semifinal game a Dayton fan posted a video of himself and the arena saying that they were going to beat VCU the next day. Then this video was a response. It has gotten reposted after we've beaten Dayton the past couple of years and the Dayton fan continues to acknowledge it. I think he said Jeff is my daddy after the last game. Seems to be in good fun.

Only context I’d add is “the Dayton” fan is Doogs who isn’t a layman fan but an employee of Barstool Sports. He has also comically made it his mission to hate on VCU even posting videos talking smack to the VCU club men’s lax team when they play in tournaments w/ Daytons club team.

It’s kind of his bit. He takes losing to VCU very hard which makes it even funnier.

Just wanted to remind any folks with a deep abiding love in their heart for baseball, that the VCU Diamond Rams season starts tomorrow AND there is a handy dandy VCU Baseball subforum where all of us seamheads gather to talk all thing VCU Baseball!!

Rams have a nice mix of old and new faces and are highly regarded going into the season. This will be the 1st season at the helm for new manager and former VCU Ram pitching great Sean Thompson

2025 Baseball Predicted Order of Finish
(Number of first place votes in parenthesis)
1. VCU – 125 (4)
Richmond – 125 (1)
3. Saint Louis – 124 (5)
4. George Washington – 104 (1)
5. Davidson – 80 (1)
6. Dayton – 75
7. Rhode Island – 71
8. Saint Joseph's – 66
9. George Mason – 58
10. Massachusetts – 44
11. Fordham – 35
12. St. Bonaventure – 29

I took a whack at some pre season previews AND VCU just dropped some actual positional/pitching previews from people who, you know, actually interact with the team on a daily basis

App State hosts their watch parties there on Saturdays in the Fall.
I've watched a ton of VCU games for what it's worth. I respect that Buddy's still has a "local" type of clientele.

I was a manager for the 2015 Baseball Team (we won the Dallas Baptist regional!) and Sean Thompson was a freshman.
Really good dude and he started week day games as a freshman which typically means you are the 4th best starter. I'm happy that he's the HC!

Heads up- starting now! A10 Hoops talk with Phil Martelli on monumental channel (Verizon channel 576) today 11:30-12:00pm. Check it out!
