When we look back, it is just ridiculous how much talent we have on this team. We just have insane guard depth. Literally any one of these guys can go off for 17-20 points in a given night:

Larry (23 last night)
Gavin (20-Oklahoma)
Burgess (18-Hampton)
Joey (19 last night)
Brandon (17-Rhode Island)
Ed Nixon (18-W&M)
T.J. Gwynn (20-Richmond)

That's 7 different guys who went off for at least 17 points in only 10 games this season. Tell me who else in the CAA can boast that?

We are very lucky to have such talented players. We don't have any stiffs.

Not trying to rain on your parade, DB, just keepin' it real. While our depth is certainly impressive, it's not (statistically, at least) that much superior to Mason or ODU.

GMU has seven different players who have scored 15 or more points in a game this season. ODU has seven players who have scored 13 or more.

Lots of talented players on all three teams, and most of them will be back for at least one more season.

No worries. Thanks for doing the research. We still have the best statistics out of all 3, but not by as significant a margin as I would have thought. No doubt ODU and Mason have solid squads as well.

VCU, ODU, and GMU will always be atop the CAA. Best recruiting, Facilities, Quality Schools for diferent reasons, but still good schools. As long as the CAA has these three schools they will always be the top teams. This includes having solid play from multiple players. If these schools were not in CAA, what would you have?

Theres always a forth that comes from somewhere, and has a hot year. This year it appears to be Hof or W & M. But based on last 7 years (after UNCW great runs) its been ODU, VCU, and GMU that always have THE teams and deepest scoring teams.

Currently 8 players average 7 points per game or better.

Sorry, I so carefully lined up all the columns.

William & Mary also has some dept. After last night's game they had the following:

Schneider 16.7 ppg
McDowell 16.0 ppg
Sumner 13.1 ppg
Kitts 6.9 ppg
McCurdy 6.5 ppg

Game highs so far for W&M:

Schneider: 25, 16, 16, 22, 18
McDowell 20, 23, 27, 28
Sumner 17, 16
Ludwick 21

Those are some really impressive numbers for McDowell, who is only a sophmore.

I checked the box score near halftime and he was perfect from the line and the floor. The way the liveblog sounded, he can defend well too. I can't remember which nerdy pasty white guy he was though. The only one that stands out is the one that kicks his legs like a dolphin tail when he shoots.

Haha David Schneider is the dolphin-tail kicker.

Quinn is a flat-out stud. He's just a sophomore too. The team is going to be built around him for the next 2 years after this season. With the recruiting class that the Tribe has coming in, it looks like both McDowell and the Tribe could have some good years ahead. They will lose a lot this season though with Schneider, McCurdy, Sumner and Hess graduating after this season. Nonetheless, McDowell's a good player to build a team around.
