Virginia Commonwealth basketball coach Shaka Smart said he doesn't think motivation will be an issue for the Rams tonight.
VCU (5-4, 13-5) is coming off a 74-62 loss at Northeastern that all but dropped the Rams out of the hunt for a fourth consecutive Colonial Athletic Association regular-season title.
"I think there's always a level of concern, but our guys respond really well when we lose a game," Smart said. "It's always humbling when you lose, particularly if you're someone that's used to winning.
"That's something we're going to spend a lot of time talking about."
....
Smart has pared his playing rotation, with eight or nine players getting most of the playing time and others playing occasionally. "I just kind of go by feel of who's playing well and who can make contributions at different times," he said. "But it changes game by game. It's not like we have a set rotation that we plan on sticking with the rest of the year.

Hmm, an inability to follow the scouting report.

We need motivation ASAP Shaka. You guys can't really afford to lose another game right now if yall are aiming for a top 4 spot. I have faith...GO RAMS!!!

I don't think even I would be able to take it around here if we lost to Towson

I've heard that the players have been really excited about practices all week. They've been communicating better. I know we're talking 'bout practice, but it's always good to hear that players have felt they've had a few really good ones in a row. We'll see how that translates tonight.

To aid in the motivation, any feeling as to how large the attendance will be for tonight's game?

That's disconcerting. A team full of Juniors and Seniors should have more discipline.

It doesn't necessarily mean a lack of discipline. When we are playing well we are able to impose or will and style of play on other teams, and keep them from following their game plan. Northeastern has been able to do that to us. We did it to W&M. It happens, but hopefully we won't see it happen again.

Well, its kinda obvious it won't be a sellout.
I think it's gonna be a good crowd...say at least more than 5,000 in my view.

Place should be rockin, fans shall be cheering, and VCU shall come out winning!!!

Can't agree. The quote didn't say we weren't able to match up...we were unsucessfull at imposing our will. It said the players were not following the plan, ie scouting report. If your not following the plan/instruction, that is a lack of discipline.
