Justin Young in his post today discussed top wins of the past week. Nice shout out if nothing else since much of the coverage has missed our big win.

3. National Hoops Report win of the week: Boston over Indiana, Syracuse over North Carolina, VCU over Oklahoma. Take your pick. Boston’s win is important for a program that is lead by a great, young head coach in Pat Chambers. Think that’ll help with recruits? Syracuse’s win over UNC has been hashed over a million times since it happened last week. You should know what it is a big win by now. Finally, how about Shaka Smart, the latest Boy Wonder to take over the Rams, beating former VCU head man Jeff Capel in Richmond? The Rams still have the punch against the big boys.

The Oklahoma win is not looking so big anymore. San Diego beat Oklahoma last night 76-64 in the Great Alaska Shootout. Oklahoma has to turn around and play Houston tonight.

It was nice to grab a win over a ranked team...but I agree with Capel when he says they aren't as good as people had them.

Unfortunately I think this win may be big in name alone (unless those young guys get good quick). Oklahoma may be in for a loooong season.

Modre bad news for Oklahoma! Houston 103-Oklahama 93. Before the game, Oklahoma was ranked 25.

Houston is often pretty decent, though. Anyone know what they look like this year? Too lazy to do any research.

Sure OU isn't playing so great now, but the fact is, when we beat them they were #17 in the country.

That is all.

Exactly. They were ranked #17, the first ranked team ever to play in the stu, team full of 4 and 5 star recruits, former coach who "moved up" to a big program, elite 8 team last year, and we beat them like a drum. Not to mention that we were coming off of a bad loss. I don't care if they don't win another game all season this was still a great win for us.
