what are actual stats good for compared to the brilliance and Basketball experience of people on here...

Big T cannot score from 5 feet and should not play and KP is the reason why we won 2 championships...

Anyone else read Moneyball?

I know a lot changes when guys play longer minutes, but I was still pretty impressed with what Terrance has done when he's actually in the game. The stats (to me) just prove what everyone already knows, Skeen needs more minutes.

Also, the obvious negatives to something like this is how do you really measure tight D, altered shots, etc etc

Yep, read it....and those numbers popped immediately for me too!

Theus getting the minutes he has scares me, and I guess I just learned why.....2.5 assists, 5.1 turnovers :!:

I think Darius does some impressive things, but I've also definitely watched our offense stall a bit under him. At 1-3 in the CAA, it might be time to try something new. Obviously Brandon belongs in the starting lineup, but I wouldn't mind seeing him running some more point. Also, call me crazy...but i'd be curious to see how good Jay could do focusing in more on distributing than shooting. He's got decent size and nice quickness. Doesn't turn the ball over and can find the open man. Might be worth looking into one of those guys switching over to the 1 when Joey needs a breather.

That is the way we did it against W&M. Coach Smart mentioned on the radio show that Darius made some strides in the game last night. I didn't see it. How did he look?

Darius is a freshman, that's usually what freshman do. We've had recruiting classes where some of our freshman have had some great years and I think we are expecting too much out of him. Hopefully last night got Darius some confidence because he played pretty well.

I've always like Darius' raw skills but did get worried when he would bring the ball down...he seemed 'turn-overable' each time but he's a freshman. Hopefully this does give him the boost of confidence he needs.

I agree with Jay running point...on the occasions he has been there he seemed comfortable in that position. BRozz as well...

Skeen getting the 7th most minutes on this team is a joke. I understand he had a year away from the game...but while he's on the floor he (statistically ...for whatever "numbers" and "facts" are worth) is our best all around player, by far.

I could understand if he wasn't in "game shape" and wasn't able to keep up for longer stints than what he has gotten, but from what I am seeing he is proving that he is perfectly capable. I hope he gets 30 minutes tomorrow afternoon in Larry's absence and DOMINATES and FORCES Shaka to play him big minutes from here on out!

You can't get rid of rust on the bench

the stats are interesting to look at, but I think they're probably mostly worthless because they're so utterly divorced from the context under which they were achieved, and as stated there are many intangible or less-tan-tangible factors... "grit," "hustle," "heart," etc that don't necessarily have consistent and recordable data points ...part of why I find fantasy sports and the whole moneyball-style actuarial view of sports so annoying and souless
