RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University learned late Monday night that it will have at least one more game on its schedule during the 2009-10 campaign as the Rams received an at-large berth into the Postseason Women’s National Invitation Tournament.
VCU, which has won at least 20 games each of the last three seasons, will travel to St. Joseph’s on Thursday; however, game times have not yet been announced. Should the Rams advance to the second round, they would face the winner of Penn State/Hofstra March 20-23.
A total of five Colonial Athletic Association teams will participate in the WNIT with James Madison as the league’s lone representative in the NCAA Tournament.
