Does anyone here know about this campaign?

From what I've seen on the vcu athletics website, any current donor who brings just 1 new donor the vcu athletic program gets 25 priority points added to their name and the new donor get's two free tickets to a 2011-2012 game TBD.

So the reason I bring this up is simple....
Shockingly, I am not a donor. However that changes this week.

So anyone who wants to "refer" me go ahead and PM me your first & last name and email address (required fields to get you credit) and it will be done.

Thanks and lets beat Northeastern!

Do we have to bid on you?

Well at this point, I've gotten several PM's...so I'm thinking I will just put everyone's name in a hat and pick one out of it to be fair. I'll probably give anyone who wants to participate until Friday to do so then pick the winner on Saturday or so.

I suggest anyone else who hasn't donated yet but wants to get in on this do so with other donors.

VCU ATHLETICS LAUNCHES "AND ONE" CAMPAIGN

VCU Athletics and the Ram Athletic Fund enjoyed a great 2009-10.

As many of you know, the Shoot for 1,000 Campaign was a huge success, yielding a nearly 50 percent increase - from 821 to 1,249 - in our donor base!

We thank all of you for this success and we appreciate your loyalty and dedication.

It’s important to understand that our athletic and academic achievements have come despite limited resources. Intrastate rivals James Madison, William and Mary, and Old Dominion have 4,395, 3,185 and 2,576 donors, respectively.VCU student-athletes give their all on the field and in the classroom for their school, their teams and for you the fans.

Now, we’d like to ask you to go to bat for them.

That’s why we’re announcing the creation of a brand new fundraising initiative called AND ONE. The AND ONE Campaign asks, simply, that each of our current supporters sign-up just one new member to the Ram Athletic Fund.

It could be a friend that you attend every game with, your co-workers who talk about the Rams at the water cooler, your neighbor who is a VCU alumnus.

These are the people who we’d like to ask you to get involved. We have big goals at VCU, reaching national prominence on the field and in the classroom among them, and the Rams need your help to reach them.

The Ram Athletic Fund is the lifeblood of our VCU Athletics. No matter the size of the contribution, a gift will directly impact VCU’s 260 student-athletes, as well as coaches and their programs.

Your generous support provides our student-athletes with the necessary tools to earn degrees, win championships and become leaders.

As a current donor, you will receive an additional 25 priority points by signing up just one new member to the Ram Athletic Fund.

All new donors signed up through the AND ONE program will receive two free tickets to a select men’s basketball game during the 2011-12 season.

Once again, thank you for all your support!

I know that it's natural for schools with football teams to have larger giving fanbases, but getting nearly quadrupled, by JMU!

Take ownership of your program ladies and gentleman, you wont find a stock that brings you more joy than buying shares in VCU Athletics! Go to this website, and pledge to join the Ram Athletic Fund. They don't want your firstborn, or two paychecks, but just a modest donation of whatever you can afford.

Go Rams!!

And then tell them Pav sent you, I could use the points, I got a long way to go to catch up to some of you!

Obviously donations to those schools we were compared to are largely football driven. Does anyone know what GMU's donor base is? This is still a great campaign however. Hopefully it will be as successful as the shot for 1,000 campaign.

Found out last bus trip that Mason is ahead of us in donors as well. Not as much as the football schools, but we are losing to them too. We are currently 8th out of 12 CAA schools.

Give it some thought ladies and gents. It's the best investment you can make, because you'll always enjoy the returns.

Your basketball program could look like the University of Delaware. Now is the time to make your initial pledge or get you friend to donate. We have had ten years of solid basketball at VCU. We haven't always agreed, but we don't have ten years of a basketball program like the University of Delaware.

You can make a pledge and pay over the next five months. Then you can renew your pledge in July, perhaps a little larger, and pay for it in 12 monthly payments. A $120 pledge comes down to $10 a month. $240 pledge comes down to $20 a month. Do it now! GO RAMS! :D

Got my And1 today. Shout out to MarcusNation!

Another bump. I just got home from a Ram Athletic Fund Board meeting where the AND ONE campaign was discussed. Here's another eye opener that was presented tonight: JMU has a campaign in full swing called the 2011 Campaign and their goal is to add 2,011 donors this year! Guys we are not even close to 2011 Ram Athletic Fund members yet. This is important stuff, and now is the time to step up and make a greater contribution to the program and the the school that has answered our calls for a better quality product on the floor.

Remember that the amount you give this year (ending June 30, 2011) determines the awards you receive for 2011-12 year.
