Hi guys,
Butler fan here. While I am glad we are won, I am saddened your run is over. I think going into the tournament none of us honestly would have expected that either of our teams would have the chance to make the final four. So, watching you destroy Georgetown, especially Purdue, and murder Kansas, I truly thought you were this year's Butler. I was hoping you were the team to finish what we started last year. Just remember the sun will shine again, and who knows next year could be your year.
P.S. Keep Shakka, his ability is inspire his team, and his name is too much for VCU to loose.

I would just like to point out to those of you complaining that the Butler team and fanbase are a bunch of privileged, private school buttheads, the grammar mistakes herein point to the contrary.

Thanks for all your compliments though.

Let's be honest, if we were in the finals tomorrow night, would you be sober enough right now to worry about proper grammar?

I seriously doubt it very highly seriously.

Don't worry I am dual enrolled in a larger public university in indianapolis as well (IUPUI), that brings down my general level of edumacation quite a bit. Plus, neither of my degrees have much to do with grammar, so I am not too worried.

Anyways, I'm hoping to see your team again next year for a rematch. I Think our schools should schedule home and home. Well, as long as your players promise not to throw tantrums, and rip water fountains off walls a la Xavier.

I would love a series like this. As for the tantrums, Can we flop like Matt Howard at least?

And as long as your players don't trash their hotel room and steal their pillows, a la George Mason.

Well he won't be around to defend himself, so I wouldn't call that fair. Anyways, I know you are loosing a number of seniors, do you have players coming in, or stepping up, to potentially fill their vacancies.

Can he at least give acting lessons?

In all seriousness though, I believe we will see some drop off next year (natural after losing four seniors). At the same time, I still think we can win 20-23 games next year. The way the coaching staff has worked with our freshman has been unbelievable. We also have two highly regarded players in Heath Houston and Reco McCarter, that red-shirted this year. Bradford will have to work hard on being aggressive on offense and Darius will need to improve some aspects of his game during the summer but i believe this team can be very good next season. It'll be interesting to see if we go get one more recruit in addition to Tre and Briante.

I would imagine that potential recruits have taken notice. Though I don't think our run helped us in that regard much last year, I do think i can only pay dividends in the long run. Though I think that in your case, hanging on to smart is really what matters most. Hopefully our two teams meet again soon.
P.S. Butler has very good performance arts programs, I'd guess Matt learned from them.

Good point. And tl485 no offense meant towards you, though I've never been to fond of Indiana as a state (I grew up in Ohio so I really don't have much room to talk) just poking fun at goofy generalizations. I have mucho respecto for Butler and all of the great things they've accomplished in the past two years. I would love to see you guys win Monday and I'd love to see us playing you guys in the future!

*edit, forgot: because I love watching AC Milan play.

I took no offense, no worries. I'm originally from the STL area, and not necessarily fond of Indiana, but Indianapolis is a tremendous town. Really beats all the midwestern cities, except Chicago imo.

I think the one thing that will be a good indicator of VCU's future success, will not be next year, but the years after. Many of Steven's star players committed to Butler due to Butler's accomplishment's the year prior to Steven's (A sweet 16 where we took Florida down to the wire). The point is, there was a two year gap between sweet sixteen appearances, where we rebuilt. I am expecting that next year, and possibly the year after will be down years for VCU, but after that, I expect you guys will see some real growth.

And when we win a NC?

I don't think we will have a down year for the following two reasons:
1. The cupboard isn't bear - Burgess comes back as well as Theus, Reddic, Brandenburg and Haley logged serious minutes during the NCAA touranment.
2. We stagnated our 2010 class by Redshirting two talented recuits who will have 1 year of experience in the program before stay start their eligibility.
