Vince Williams - NBA Thread

The Memphis box score is the only NBA box score I ever look at. I look forward to seeing his name in it again soon!

GG Jackson and Vince Williams Jr. were two of the best stories to come from an otherwise forgettable 2023-24 Memphis Grizzlies season. Both started on two-way contracts and eventually played their way into multiyear deals with more prominent roles in the future of Grizzlies basketball.

Injuries have kept both players from making much of an impact in the 2024-25 season, but that won't be the case for much longer.

The two are working their way back, and according to Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins, Jackson is "closer" to a return than Williams.
Williams has had a different process. He missed the start of the season with a left tibial stress reaction injury and did not make his debut until Nov. 15 against the Golden State Warriors.

After playing in three games, Williams suffered a Grade 3 ankle sprain. He was given a return timeline of three to six weeks.

"I think he's going to get up to full-court stuff later in the week," Jenkins said. "He's progressing well. The timeline is a little bit different."

Mannnn... I've been looking nearly incessantly (no X for us here, and not seeing any updates in this thread), and finally found this, and sucks to see. Cannot wait to see VMJr return to action.

Better to get it right than to rush and risk further career threatening injury. Look at RGIII had he just waited and rehabbed he’d likely still be playing

RGIII the QB? Are you serious? His offensive line disliked him so much, they wouldn't block for him. One year wonder

Regardless of how you felt about RGIII’s professional career. The fact remains the guy had a significant injury that he or his coaches decided he could play through. He couldn’t and his game wasn’t the same.
