Josh Pantazelos earned TWO Ram of the Game honors this week!!!

VCU goalkeeper Josh Pantazelos, who made the start in place of an injured Gabriel Rodriguez, collected his first save of the game in the 72nd minute when he corralled a 20-yard shot by UNC Wilmington's Thomas Driver.
Cody Frenna nearly won it for UNC Wilmington less than four minutes into the first overtime but Pantazelos made a diving save and the VCU backline was able to clear the ball away.
Virginia Commonwealth University battled UNC Wilmington to a scoreless double-overtime draw in Colonial Athletic Association men's soccer action Wednesday night at Sports Backers Stadium. It was the seventh double-overtime match of the season for VCU.
With the tie, VCU runs its record to 5-2-6 overall with a 2-1-4 mark in CAA play. UNC Wilmington, which played to its third-straight scoreless draw, is 7-4-3, 3-1-3.
-----------------------------------------------------
Drexel was on the attack early as VCU goalkeeper Josh Pantazelos, who posted his second straight shutout, made a save off the foot of Anthony Bafile just 30 seconds into the match
Pantazelos came up with another save in the 25th minute when he made a stop after a one-on-one in front of the net with Malcolm LeBourne. He then made his third stop of the night on a long strike by Nathan Page at the 28:01 mark.
In the 56th minute, Drexel's Manuel Cazares fired a low shot from outside the 18' but Pantazelos was there for his fourth save.
Pantazelos finished the night with four saves in the net, while Pussinen made five stops for the Dragons.

Sophomore Kristin Boyd spiked 12 kills to drive the offense and classmate Marisa Low dug 21 balls to spark the defense in Virginia Commonwealth University's 3-0 (25-10, 25-19, 28-26) victory over Georgia State Friday at the Verizon Wireless Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center.
The Rams hit .370 and .469 in sets one and two, respectively, to roll out to a commanding 2-0 match lead. VCU led wire-to-wire in a 25-10 rout in the opening set. The Panthers threatened to push the match to four sets, but Boyd and senior Mariel Frey blasted back-to-back kills off assists from freshman Ciara Brown to lock up a 28-26 win.
Boyd hit .429 and added three blocks, while senior Kelsie Clegg, who was honored prior to the match for breaking VCU's career blocks record, added eight kills and hit .400.
"Two kids I'm really proud of tonight that were really standouts, Kelsie Clegg, who hit .400 blocked well and provided great leadership, and Kristin Boyd who I'm so proud of. We knew this was coming," Finley said.

VCU's pressure proved to be too much for the Monarchs in the 11th minute, when Edgcomb split the defense on the right side and found freshman Jordyn Rolling. Rolling then fed classmate Taryn Cressy, who blasted a shot into the right corner of the net to give VCU a 1-0 advantage.
Edgcomb would help the Rams extend that lead less than six minutes later when she lifted a pass from deep on the right side and found Azania, who ripped a shot from five yards out into the back of the net to push VCU's lead to 2-0.
The Rams picked up their first win over the Monarchs since 2006.

Senior Kelsie Clegg hit .600 and sophomore Kristin Boyd supplied 11 kills in a 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-14) Virginia Commonwealth University sweep of UNC Wilmington Saturday night at the Verizon Wireless Arena.
Clegg provided 10 kills in 15 swings for the Rams, who hit a season-high .333 in the victory.
VCU has won five straight to improve to 9-16 overall and 7-2 in the Colonial Athletic Association. The Rams continued their dominance in this series, recording their 11th straight over the Seahawks. UNC Wilmington falls to 7-17 overall and 1-8 in CAA action.

Sophomore Arialle Hess scored a pair of goals and Virginia Commonwealth University clinched its first Colonial Athletic Association Tournament bid since 2003 with a 4-1 victory over William & Mary Sunday at Busch Field.
Hess, a transfer from Temple University, booked her second two-goal performance of the season. She tapped in a rebound in the 18th minute to stake the Rams to a 1-0 lead. She added a late score in the 68th minute when she cleaned up a scrum in from of the cage. Hess has six goals this year.

OK seriously, you guys need to stop picking whichever one you think is the hottest... how could a back-up goal keeper posting back-to-back shut outs in two crucial CAA matches coming down the stretch not get this hands down?

haha, the basketball season could be interesting then... slim pickings.
