1st pick overall for the wizards!!!

im a wiz fan, so im real happy, but whats even cooler is if training camp for the wiz continues to be at the Stu, that means either wall (most likely) or turner will be shooting some hoops there in the fall

The Frickin' Redskins are really gettin' jealous about the bball, hockey and baseball teams in town.

That doesn't keep the radio guys up here from talking about anything BUT the Redskins... I'm a skins fan but it's kind of annoying. There was a lot of Caps talk come playoff time, but they still managed to get their Skins talk in. With the Nats playing well (minus the recent 5 game skid) you would think that there would be a little talk... nope, they prefer to talk about Dan Snyder saying that Fat Albert's behavior is not very Redskin like...

DC is a football city. always has been, and always will be.

can't wait to see john wall in a wizards uniform.

Never before has there been a time where football, basketball, hockey and baseball are all showing promise and hope at the same time

Redskins: fans have been very accepting of Shannahan's moves and I think a lot of fans believe he'll turn it around

Wizards: 1st pick overall. John Wall. cap space. Going to be an exciting offseason.

Capitals: Best record in all of hockey, disappointing playoffs but hey canadians beat the penguins too

Nats: Improved play w/ Strasburg coming in June

Throw in our VCU Rams, and some how all my teams are on the way up.

ridiculous. After almost 20 years of not having any good teams in the nations capital (im a home team fan all the way) we suddenly showing all this promise at once?

i used to think i was bad luck. I'm giving the VCU Rams all the credit for turning that around.

VCU became my team in 2004 and we all know how things have been since.

Jealous of what?

Yeah the wizards got the #1 overall pick and Wall or Turner could def make an impact, but have you seen the recent trend of NBA #1 picks? Oh and a guy bringing guns into the locker room as a "joke". and getting suspended for the season, ending any chances the wizards had of making the play offs

2009- Blake Griffin- out for season
2007- missed one whole season, and most of another

So nothings for certain that they will play a lot.

Hockey- Yeah the Caps got Ovechkin, and were #1 overall seed, but got ousted by the 8th seed Canadiens who just ousted the Penguins and now are losing to the flyers.

Baseball- Yeah they got Strasburg who's been owning in the minors, but has yet to have been called up yet to the Nats. And yeah they might be doing well now, but the question is can they keep it up all year? Can Livan and Lannan pitch this well all year? Can Nyjer Morgan, Pudge, Adam Dunn, and Zimmerman all continue to hit this well all year? I highly doubt it.

I think Washington and especially NoVa sports fans are extremely optimistic. A little win here and there breeds/breathes it.

Go Wizards!!
Go Thunder!!
Go RAMS!!
FUR and ODU!!

I guess they can't do any worse than Kwame Brown.

Why is it when the rest of DC is doing well is when DC United drops off the face of the Earth?

You have to actually be on the face of the earth in order to drop off of it

The Baltimore Orioles are 17 games out of first. It's still May.

He said DC not Maryland lol.

DC = Wizards, Caps, Redskins, Nats and DC United

true, but the o's were pretty much DC's baseball team for years prior to the nats coming to town.

having been born in DC and growing up in northern va, i can say for a fact that the orioles have always had a fantastic DC fanbase. they still get lots of coverage in the Post as well. personally, i'll always associate a little part of the o's with DC.

yeah true, plus when you had a HOF'er in Cal Ripken Jr. playing for the O's, its hard for DC fans not to like em, at least back then anyway.
