Although we are not in The NCAA Tournament or The NIT for all that matters,we won a championship. To some it may not mean a lot but to our program this is monuemental. We have our first basketball national tittle even though it is The CBI. I am proud of the fact that our guys did not quit on the season. It would have been easy to just take a break and start fresh for next season. The most important thing that came from this tournament was that our team learned how to be champions. They practiced like champions and played like champions. This is huge because going into next year the core group will have higher expectations of themselves. They are going to work harder and they are going to have a new found confidence. As a former athelete I respect the fact that these guys ran all the way through the finish line. They may not have the NCAA Div 1 tittle but the finished strong and finished with heart. Even I have to admit that I was not a fan of Joey but he showed me something this year, and for that he has my respect.Thank you guys for finishing strong and representing us well. Next year we hope to be better. Go Rams!...Go VCU!... :ugeek: :ugeek: :ugeek:

I mainly agree with you, but I wouldn't even think about calling the CBI a "national title". Again though, I get where you are going with it. I think the tourney addressed some big needs - - mainly experience for the youngsters, winning on the road and making lemonade out of life's lemons. It was the right decision to play in the CBI so I salute Shaka and Norwood for not letting their pride get in the way of improving this team with additional game time.

We won a tournament championship, not a national championship of any sort.

hopefully this little tittle grows into a couple of bigger tittles someday.

The seed has been planted!

think of it this way. It's a positive because no matter what happens, snub or complete and utter failure, we get to play in the CBI next year to defend the tittle.

Spot on with the majority of what you said. W's are AlWAYS better than L's. We also beat some well known schools along the way and further beefed up Shaka's win count. I think the tourney showed a lot in terms of the team and Shaka's work ethic and appetite to be winners. GO RAMS!
