It was reported on the UR board that Weber was dismissed from FUMA. Does anyone know anything?

With ODU on our mind, no one knows or no one cares. DB, do you know anything? He is a highly rated recruit.

Wishful thinking on the part of Spiders' fans I'm afraid. He left on his own accord. That said, he did have trouble with the tough disciplinary standards under Fletcher Arritt and did miss a number of games because of it. He was the best player on that team. He actually graduated and was fully qualified before entering FUMA. The only reason he went is to mature his body and get stronger before getting to VCU. He will go home and continue to workout in order to be ready for next season.

His status remains unchanged and he will be here next year. You'll like the speed he brings to the table. He's every bit as fast as Rob is and his defense is insane. Very good at that end of the floor.

:| Hope he will work on discipline as well. We all know Shaka will not put up with troubled players.

Well, so much for Briante having a productive year at Fork Union. I had heard from an insider there about his troubles, so it is not surprising that he left.

It's been well documented the Briante is a great defender and very quick. Let's hope that he comes to VCU with maturity, an little bit of an offensive game and ready to play.

It will be interesting to follow how the Threatt kid going to Delaware compares to Briante going forward. Kids that can score and are as athletic as Threatt don't grow on trees. You don't hear/read good things about his defensive abilities though, like you do with Briante. It's just suprising to me that we let a kid like this, right in our own backyard, go somewhere like UD.

On a related note, I found it very difficult trying to follow Briante at FUMA. Other than the scores of their games, there were absolutely no other details to be found on their website or anywhere else. The good thing is that I can now stop looking for!

I wonder why he did not enroll at VCU for the second semester? Perhaps he would have to pay his way until he joins the team? This is very strange.....

It is not a big deal if he does something productive before he enters VCU next fall. If he has trouble with authority, then that would concern me with all of his idle time. He certainly cannot improve without organized basketball.

the military environment is not for everyone - certainly not for me. Perhaps, just perhaps, Weber (an 18-19 yr old kid) had good intentions but found FUMA not to be a good fit. I suggest not reading too much into this.

This. The level of discipline at FUMA is no where near what will be expected of him at VCU. He's a good kid.

at least he hasn't broken a teammates jaw with a sucker punch in case the UR fan is still concerned about our recruits
