Welcome Terrence Hill Jr!!

Welcome. Seems like a great get. We REALLY need a big though. And talking about the future? If he plays well, he’s gone the following year.

“It’s way easier,” Hill said. “I was kind of focused coming in with the mindset of getting my teammates better shots. I had a lot of good teammates around me, so just facilitating and doing what I do best. I feel like my passing is my best attribute, so just doing that with such high-level skill guys, it became very easy, for sure.”

Sounds like the right attitude coming into D1 play. Scorer turned facilitator, and fine with that. Portland kid too!

My family and I were out celebrating our daughter's graduation from the VCU School of Nursing last night when I heard about this commitment. Thus, I couldn't put much thought into it. What I did think was, "Really? Another point guard?" But, it makes sense if you consider how many players we have on their last year of eligibility. Obviously there's no guarantee that Jennings or Hill stick around for their sophomore year, but there's at least a little planning going on here for the future. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work.

We're losing potentially all of our experienced guards next year though, so there will be plenty of playing time available if they stick it out a year.
But will the money be there for them if they play well? If not, they’re gone.

Have you listened to the Odom Hour with Darius Theus from this week? I was really bummed about the portal and NIL situation since the “flipped commitment” but I listened last night and it had me fired up (in a GREAT way) while driving home from work.
I was at BWW. Darius was pumped up…he said VCU was going to be fine. Apparently two bigs were visiting on Thu which is why Coach Odom couldn’t attend. He was a dinner with recruits. The ball has started rolling in e right direction.
