Welcome Terrence Hill Jr!!

Ha! I have my son set up for a trust fund that will not payout. He will get increments if my wife and I kick the bucket. He would withdrawal it all and buy a Ferrari. Ha! I can bet NILLY is willy nilly. Sounds fishy to me.

I cannot begin to calculate the amount of students and passersby we warned about those tables, the con artists sitting at them lurking in wait for a fool to stop at them, and CCs in general the dangers of interest. I used to tell them live out of a thrift store before you go granting them the contract to hold them in chains before they ever get started.

Easy to get in and heck to get out.

The scholarship, major/education, room/board, even facilities, now seem to have the value of a fast food container.

Sadly, It does to a kid who only wants to hoop and believes that he will way day become a pro. Fwiw, the amount of commitment that these young men have to make in order to perform effectively on the court deserves more than what you list as they cannot fully focuse similar to a regular scholarship student.

Also, it has always been about dollars, at least for everyone involved except the students athletes.

If you want to be a rich playboy. You better start with the "Rich" part and get that taken care of first.

I knew a person who ordered themself a Dr Who scarf. It cost them $400, and they were bragging about it having cost so much, being one of a kind, blah... blah... blah. It came out of their financial aid payment. Months later they passed by headed to that financial aid office, never told us what came of that convo with them, but that was their last semester at VCU.

I'd have settled for a cold neck and stayed in school.

I knew MULTIPLE people in my time at VCU who would get their financial aid check and immediately blow it on a new stereo or TV. These are the people who kept getting their electricity or telephone turned off by the end of the semester because they couldn't pay their bills.

I never considered myself great with money but I had common sense. But then you meet people who are truly awful with it. We all know at least one guy who could be handed $100k cash today and pull up in a $90k car tomorrow.
