Welcome to VCU Luke Bamgboye

Luke is going to be very, very good. He's starting to put it all together. We are going to have a nice front-court next year with CFerm, Luke and big Silas. Michael is going to be a force as well. The future is very bright.

He's been fun to watch. At some point he's going to learn how to control those blocks rather than just spiking the ball into the stands. He's got lots to learn but his talent is obvious.

I can't wait to see him play alongside Silas. Mr. Block + Mr. Rebound
Agreed for sure.... and I think a key is, he knows his role (at the moment) is to come in, play defense, & block shots..... anything else we get from him is extra.

Sure the rebounding #'s could be higher... but there's a lot of factors that go into that.... especially if/when us or the opponent are taking a lot of 3's.... long shots a lot of time means long rebounds which can affect his ability to rebound depending on where he's positioned on the court.... etc.

Definitely like what I see so far though... and hes only a freshman, so plenty of time to grow his game.

At this point, the most important thing Bamgboye needs is confidence. He looked terrified in the second half of the Nevada game when he was on the court. You could see it in his face and eyes. That will change as he gets more playing time/experience. Evidently, the coaching staff must have addressed that with him after the Nevada game, because he flat out got in the Miami player's face after that one block today and the refs T'd him up for it. If that helps grow his confidence, then that T was worth it.

Kat was saying today when I was expressing wtf about babbling at that player- commentators even said TV Teddy gad warned them all about court murmurs, ugh.. that we don't know what the player he came down on had been saying to him previous to that T. Gotta learn to take what others say out there with a grain of salt and you can pissthemoff more by saying nothing and instead, just flat out playing harder. Kat's saying what he said she doesn't think just came out of nowhere, not to say it was acceptable, but something was going on and felt reactionary. But I'm saying that getting another player's goat getting them to in turn get themselves T'ed up, is ALSO a tactic.

If Luke can play a tougher game, he'll be in for a pretty good year. The pieces are there.

We have a very solid group of freshmen. Better than I expected. Very impressed with all three and apparently Odom is too.

I was actually thinking it was worth at the time as well.
