I still remember watching Danny Kottak raining what would have been 3's and Ren Watson's blocking shot back in the Dana Kirk days, listening to Sunbelt Tournament games against ODU and UAB -- watching the JD Barnett shows on Saturday morning (I'll skip the Mike Pollio era), Sonny and the JUCO's ... with Kendrick, Sheron Mills, Bernard Hopkins migrating from the Metro to the CAA. The McCarthy years were just bad...other than moving into the Siegel Center and Dominic Jones.

Then we hire a young coach and get better, and then we hire another young coach and get even better, and then we hire another young coach and go to the sweet 16!!!

The last 9 years have been absolutely incredible and the trend line is continually improving.

Sometimes the light's all shining on me
Other times I can barely see
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it's been

Fare you well... Go Rams!!!

Lets keep on truckin'

vcurams, you are giving away your age with the Grateful Dead reference. But seriously the Rams have always given us something to cheer about even during the Pollio era. Remember the Henlan, Stinnie, Cheeks, Wilson and Thompson team that made the NIT quarters? I think the driest era was the Hot'n'Sonny years in the late nineties.

The product has always been there and it just seems that the fanbase grows year after year. Someone was complaining about the "grandstanders" in another thread, but I'm here to tell you once you become a Ram fan you will stay one. How many sellouts will we see next season?

Those early years were absolutely great. The middle years left a lot to be desired. The last nine years brought new excitement--new energy--great basketball. May we continue on the road to greatness.

The last nine years have been great. Great coaches, great players, and a great W-L record. A fun ride for sure, and one I also hope continues.

Sometimes you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right! Go Rams!

Now thanks to the title of this thread, I cannot get that song out of my head!!! :D

Might be the "Greatest Story Ever Told" ....let hope "the music never stops"

There's a band (TEAM) out on the highway.
They're high-steppin' into town.
They're a rainbow full of sound.
It's fireworks, calliopes and clowns --

Everybody's dancing (in the sweet 16).
Come on, children. Come on, children,
Come on clap your hands.

Hey, comin' out around the world be ready for a brand new beat
Oh, summer's here and the time is right, oh, for dancing in the street
Dancing in Chicago (dancing in the street)
Down in New Orleans (Dayton) (dancing in the street)
In New York City (San Antonio) (dancing in the street)

All we need is music, sweet music (sweet, sweet music)
They'll be music everywhere (everywhere)
They'll be laughing, singing, music swinging and dancing in the street

It doesn't matter what you wear (VCU Sweet 16 shirts) just as long as you are there
They're dancing (dancing in the street) oh oh

This is an invitation across the nation the chance for folks to meet
There'll be swinging, swaying, music playing and dancing in the street

Philadelphia, PA (Dayton) now (dancing in the street)
Baltimore and D.C. (Chicago) (dancing in the street)
Can't forget them other cities (San Antonio) (dancing in the street)

:D Go VCU!

Oh, the Rams are threat'ning
To put this thing away
If the 'noles don't get some shelter
Oh yeah, they're gonna fade away

Win, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
Win, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away

OOh, see the fire is sweepin'
San Antonio streets today
Burns like a red coal carpet
Red hot Rams found a way

Win, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
Win, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away

Atack, attack
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away

The flood is threat'ning
To sweep the southwest away
Gimme, gimme shelter
Or the 'noles are gonna fade away

Win, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
I tell you love, it's just a kiss away
It's just a kiss away
It's just a kiss away
It's just a kiss away
It's just a kiss away
Kiss away' kiss away
