...Take the under?

No really, What did we learn?

From the "Win is a Win" crowd ...well, self explanatory...

From the "Bench Joey" crowd...well, that never made any sense and you should return to your physician directed pharmaceutical regimen...

We did see that #30 can find his range..(4 of 5 in the first half and led team with 12)...wait, did he play in the second half?

Not sure if there is a lesson other than the sky IS NOT falling. We will score more than 50 regularly and we will likely continue to play to the pace and style of our competitors winning more than we lose...

{OK, tell me to stop posting now}

If VMI was smart they should've just fouled him until he starts making them. He's having a hard enough time making 1 out of 2, right now he's more likely to miss 2 than make 1.

* We learned that beating them on our home court won't improve our RPI.
* We learned they are a fun alternative style state team to play, which is important considering we play most others in the CAA and Tech/UVA won't play us.
* We learned that even if a team is willing to play our style we won't dominate them [I guess we learned against TN?]
* We learned that a program with little recruiting emphasis (compared to VCU) can play our style and go toe-to-toe.

We learned we better play better defense Saturday nite. Unless we plan to play shoot out with Richmond. I wouldn't suggest doing that.

Toby Veal needs to work on free throws

They all need to work on their free throws. We were at home so there was little pressure, but away games they're going to need to focus and make those. I don't know if anyone has the stats, but it seems like we might be the worst free throw shooting team in the CAA.

ODU was worse than us coming into this game, but hopefully we will get better from the line. It would be nice to see Ed and Brandon get to the stripe more.

I thought it was a great win against a very good--and well coached--team. If I had no ownership in the outcome of the game, it would have been a fun game to watch. It's a shame it wasn't on TV.

We gotta make those FT's.
We're not the only one's who can press; and do it well.
Toby took a big step forward in his confidence...but he needs to control that goal tending tendency (last 2 games same call :? )...
When Toby crashes the boards; good things can happen.
When Troy has a hot hand...get him the ball.
We can control tempo, even when it's not our preferred style of play...I lost count how many times we passed on open 3's early in the clock just to slow the game down...a little frustrating to watch, but that seemed to be the game plan & it worked.
...and just when you thought officiating could get worse...well...'nuff said.

yeah brad got the goaltending charge at least twice too and it wasnt hard to read the frustration on his face

TOBY VEAL NEEDS TO WORK ON HIS FREE THROWS.

I am learning that a 6'9" player such as Juvonte Reddic instead of sitting on the bench game after game should be getting playing time. I am learning that the other two freshmen should be getting more playing time. I've seen every VCU team since the 1970's and this team reminds me of the 1985 team that was loaded with senior starters, such as Duncan and Lamb, and the following year was a disaster for VCU basketball. If this team does not start giving more playing time to the non seniors next year is going to be a train wreck!
