What we need, soon

You can also count on them to chest bump during player intros like they are on the team, and dance horribly when music is played...
Why not just let people enjoy themselves and have a good time at the game? If some people want to dance horribly, and some people want to stand up, and some people want to sit down, and some people are east side, and some people are west side, and some people want to carry a white board but not write large enough for me to see it, and some people want to chant, and some don't, who cares as long as they are all buying tickets and coming to the games? If you have to hate on someone hate on ODU fans or people that don't come to the games, not the ones that do no matter how they choose to enjoy it.

Sometimes, I think I see where you are coming from. One added note: I don't like any cheer or chant that picks on the opposing team member. It just lacks class, in my opinion. I think VCU fans are a level above that.
you obviously haven't seen the rowdies and the band with..."you suck ballssss"
This "blame the rowdies" thing amuses me. I bet it was their fault we lost to Western Michigan. Funny how you don't mention the rowdies that turn to the rest of the student section to kill all the "BULLSH!T" chants...
well I've never done that chant a day in my life...but I am thankful for that. But is that really any more classy than u suck balls? And western michigan...our very poor shooting lost that game.

and I change my last statement partially...the west side fans that don't stand up are to blame for any loses. The rowdies are actaully passionate and cheer. They get they 4 hours early so they can be up front and go nuts for VCU basketball. I'm not a big fan of the "fondling balls" hand gesture but at least they cheer and jump around and actually fricken wear yellow! Rowdies I salute u!

Have you noticed fewer of those rowdies are doing that during opponent intros? They can't help what the band does, talk to TTLPKG for that one. Also, at least the words "u suck balls" are all FCC approved words. I personally wish it would stop too, FWIW.

I'm starting to come around to this point of view (sans the not writing large enough part). Do I wish we had 7600 fans as crazy as an FMRick, who dress up like a Banana, and yell as loud as DickLawRam? Yes. However, one of the things I preach that is great about VCU is it's diversity. So, as long as they are there, enjoying a game of basketball, I'm happy to have them.

We could look like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nndsDW6eU8E

Pav, maybe you could tweet everything that goes on the white board if you are unwilling to run up and down the baseline so everyone can see it. I actually miss that the most from back when the students could sit on the sideline.

The first step to having 7,600 crazy fans at every game would be to have 7,600 fans at every game. Instead of trying to change the people that are already there do what you can to get more people to come out to the games with you and make them feel welcome. If every game is sold out then the casual fans who don't really care about the game will be weeded out and we will be left with 7,600 passionate VCU basketball fans.

Not a big fan of hating on the Rowdy Rams either. Even if they don't do any thing outside of the games (I personally don't know what they do) they come to the games and cheer and generate excitement. Why slight them for that? If you want to do something that they are not doing then get a group together and do it.

Too often we seem to forget that we all have a common goal here. We are all supporting the same team.

Hmm, Tweeting the signs, maybe when I get a new phone for xmas we can make this happen.

If your current phone can text, then it can tweet. just link your twitter account with your mobile number, then send a text to 40404.

Not as great as it was to wake up for my morning run with this as the backdrop!

watching the rowdy rams dance throughout the game and link arms while rocking side to side and of course chest bumping is probably the greatest joy i get out of sitting on the west side.

They also have some fat guy with horns and a white board.

I actually like your white board

I can text, but my current phone is a crappy go phone to replace my crappy ATT phone. With my fat fingers, I'd spend the whole game trying to text and never get to watch.

We'll get someone in charge of taking pictures of the board and throwing that on Twitter instead.

Looks like someone is trying to have a run away victory with the POW campaign.
