Did you not see enough of their post presence? Remember their hotshot freshman guard that was destroying everyone … we put the cuffs on him, but their two big guys destroyed us.
The guard that also killed us with the Lithuanian guy Marciulionis. he didn't shoot a lot of threes but he got to the rim over and over again. What I remember most about their post presence was every time we drove to the basket we got hit and hit hard and there two inside guys ended up with like 4 fouls total between them.

Saint Mary’s and Zags are shooting a combined under 3% from three. Lowest percentage in history of a championship.
yeah that was crazy -

an observation I would make after watching 60+ years of these tournaments is that shooting percentages often go down when a team plays multiple games back to back , especially when teams play good defense

the legs get tired in that second and third game

you see more teams taking it to the rack in championship games and getting to the foul line

but UNDER 3% WOW !!!!!!!!!!

Our percentage chance of making the tournament continues to drop in the bubble watch link on ESPN (down to 65% in the "Work to do" category). Thankfully there haven't been any bid stealers as of yet to my knowledge but that is subject to change. It's looking more and more like we may need to win out. If we lose in the championship game, I think we have a chance, but it'll be quite the nerve-wracking selection show for Ram fans.

I believe statistically we have never NOT made the NCAA Tournament with 25+ wins before Selection Sunday, so here's to hoping that trend continues if we fall short of a conference tournament championship. That being said, we control our own destiny. Win 3 and in.... what more can you ask for.

Neither team should have been tired. They get like a bye through most of the WCC champ.
