Who'll be the top on ball defender this year?

We all like offense but at the end of the day, is there anyone on the team that excels at one on one defense.

I remember watching Jesse P-R and Antoine Willie go heard every minute of every game.

Who will be the guy this year? Or better is there a guy this year?
 
wasn't nixon the guy last year? He is still around right? O ya he is, so nothing will change
 
Per minute played Theus showed potential/skill last year, good footwork & hands
 
I'm sure there are many that will be very good defenders but when it comes to on the ball defenders this discussion should start and end with Mr. Ed "in your jersey" Nixon.
 
Nixon is an excellent defender. Theus has quick feet and hands so he will contribute more this year with increased PT.
 
I thought Troy looked really solid as well on D last year. Played with TONS of confidence as a freshmen, I'd say more than Darius even.

Ed's definitely the man, our Thabo Sefolosha if you will. He'll be the guy we throw on Jenkins, Bazemore, and Allen.

Really excited to see what our senior guards do this year on both sides of the ball.

I thought Troy looked solid but a little stiff on D last year without the lateral quickness of some of the other kids. Ed is the man.

I'll tell ya, last year in pre-season practice I saw Theus in a one-on-one defensive drill against various players and no one defended better. He's long and tall and strong. Look for him to really shine defensively this year if his confidence is better. Looked like sometimes the game was a little quicker than he expected as a freshman.
