...because I've paid more for beer at dumber events.

I'm also of the opinion that there are ways to make it work for you (JacksonWard31 can probably suggest numerous ways to get a flask into the event).

I know it sucks that they changed the rules, but it's still a VCU event...you don't have to pay to get in, and it's a nice way to start your evening before heading into the homecoming game. Personally, I wish they'd switch it back to the BYOB style event of years past, but it's tomorrow...so probably too late for that this year.

Dudes... join me. Embrace the Chill and Grill and help make my Saturday even better than I expect it to be.

(PLEASE?!?!)

Did you reserve a spot?

Maybe if they see a lower turnout they'll change it back. Maybe not, but I won't be attending. To all those going, I hope its a blast and good weather.

I actually wrote a lengthy email (so I won't post it) about this and the "homecoming" concert to the Homecoming Committee and Faculty Sponsor yesterday and have yet to receive a response. If anyone is interested, I can shoot you a forwarded copy of my email via PM. I'm of the opinion that if we don't boycott it, they will think that we approve of these new changes and continue doing what they are doing. I'm hoping they will change it back before next year's event, or cancel it altogether and instead just have a "tailgating area" before (and possibly after) each basketball game. Having said that, I respect those that feel differently and decide to go and wish them a great time.

I'm with you on the tailgate, but (without reading what you wrote to them about it) understand that the concert is absolutely 100% targeted at the current student population and not catered towards the alumni....

I think the students have won that battle. No way will that change in my eyes.

Agreed, word for word.

I totally understand what you guys are sayin.. it's just, if I go to this to film parts of it...I can tell my wife I'm going to do "work". Thus allowing me to drink "1 beer" (because I'm a professional), before heading to the Stu to shoot the game.
:)

How epic would a drunk ramnation video be? Just 6 minutes of Natty yelling at the refs and dropping the camera. He might come home and make every fantasy three for the season in one night

I will probably be going because its going to be in the 50s and some friends reserved a spot. But I will try my best to not have a good time so that the homecoming commitee gets the message.

Tailgating for 2k12...leggggggo

The 6 beer thing is ridiculous. The school will probably change it next year after the backlash that will probably follow. This is the one time of the year we can pretend to tailgate and go crazy like a football university and they try and make it wack.

I urge those trying to get wild for our homecoming to pregame the chill and grill. I myself will be up all night cooking a pig and clearing out Main St. ABC's stock of Virginia Gentlemen.

That would be amazing. Make it happen Natty!
