They have now gone into the gym's of two acc teams and walked away with the W. I am still not counting on a home loss to them but even if we did lose I don't think it will be a bad loss.

and Tony Shaver is the real deal. By the way, what's up with GMU getting killed tonight by Radford.

Yeah W&M is getting some nice wins, so I expect they'll be close to top 25 this week. How f'ing ridiculous if it is W&M that gets the first top 25 spot for the CAA since Mason's run to the Final 4? They aren't beating the very best teams in the ACC, but they are beating the probable 6-9 place teams, which is still solid.

I wouldn't mind seeing them come into the Stu as a top 25 team. That is going to be a big game either way. The first loss @W&M wasn't horrible other than the lead we gave up, but it would kill me to see us lose to any CAA team twice this year no matter how good they are.

This team is good, real good. Props to them for coming out of nowhere and spanking the big boys.

I was at the women's game but from what I heard GMU spent the night throwing up threes and not hitting them. Apparently they didn't bother to try anything else really. Oh and one of their star players fouled out early second half.

side note: After seeing a NU team last year win major victories away in hostile environments and then crash later down the stretch, especially CAA tourney time I'm holding judgment. I will agree Tony Shaver has done great things for the program though.

William and Mary strikes me as an intelligently coached team that comes out night after night and is consistently patient playing to their identity as a team. I'm not so sure with our depth and rotations and "havoc" style of play that we have completely discovered our identity yet

Maryland jacked up a lot of cold threes 4/25 (16%). Not sure if this was a poor shooting night or can attribute all that to the tribe's D. They drop 2 or 3 more of those treys and its a different ballgame. Whatever the reason, hats off to the Tribe, they are getting it done.

They looked great last night against Maryland. I was very impressed with the way Quinn McDowell played especially...he's really played incredibly smart basketball. Then you add David Schneider who has been playing at a high level in the CAA for what seems like 8 years, another solid senior in Danny Sumner, Kitts (Jr.) playing solid in the paint, and McCurdy..yet another senior who really gets the system...and they are a couple of wins away from playing their way into the top 25.

ODU is finally starting to live up to their expectations a little as well.

If you ask me I'd like to see our three teams run the table in the CAA, and us win out over those two. If the three of these teams don't drop any head scratchers this is definitely a multiple...possibly 3 bid league.

W&M without a doubt is the CAA's top team so far. We can prove otherwise with our matchup at the Stu and in conference play, but there is no doubt that the Tribe is very much for real. Tony Shaver is a great coach and he deserves everything he has coming to him. He's just doing a stellar job at William and Mary.

HOLY POOP! Mighty MARYLAND of the ACC's RPI went UP in a LOSS at HOME to WILLIAM AND MARY. No, really. Who would have ever thought the world would come to this?!

It does appear that Shaver is the real deal and he's getting it done with his players now. I just want to see what they do with a little target on their back.

I'm still not convinced. Everyone though NU was the real deal most of last season, then they just bombed.

I'm still waiting this one out.

While W&M could still collapse for sure, I'm not seeing the comparison to Northeastern. They started out 3-4, with a couple double-digit losses to average majors. They didn't hit their stride until the start of conference season where they rolled off a bunch of wins consecutively IIRC(like an 8-game streak?).

Maryland is an NIT team at best, but still any time a CAA team beats an ACC team it's news. They are playing at the VERY top of their game. Hard to play that way all year and to keep winning the close games (see VCU and Radford). I think they'll fall off some - - probably not enough to fall out of the Friday bye in Richmond though.
