Work Those Quads! (Net Rank Thread)

But Dayton is right on the edge of being Quad 1. Would us beating them drop them out of Quad 1 territory?
That’s the unfortunate question. If we beat them badly very likely they are well out of it. If we beat them period there’s a serious chance they drop out. Kind of D a m n ed either way. We’ll have to hope they bounce back with a run.

Now Mason is 69 so we could be looking at a good Q2 win if we beat them so at worst two solid Q2 and at best Q1 and Q2. I don’t think Mason can move to Q1 if they lose to us.

Bona isn’t doing us any favors with their rough streak but atleast they are still top 100 and it was on the road.

If we don't beat them by 30 or 41, they might stay in the top 75.

But in all seriousness, we'll probably have to hope they find some consistency and get back in the top 75 since they're likely to drop a couple of spots with a loss to us.

Seton Hall moved up to #201 in the NET, so that Q4 loss may be about to go away.
Fingers crossed, we need all the help we can get. At large looks like it'll be a long shot, I just hate having to win the A10 tournament to get in. It's quite hard to do, as evidenced by how many (or few) times we've done it.

Dayton can lose Friday night and still end up with a better ranking than they have today. It's happened numerous times this year to teams that have lost to a team with a much better ranking.

We don’t need Dayton to be a Q1 victory this week. Just need them to be Q1 on March 16th.
This concept is something that wayyyyyyy too many college hoops fans and talking heads don't quite understand. I like that Mason and Dayton are Top 75, but VCU needs them to be Top 75 come March too. Being ranked 70-75 is a little too risky. If one or both is going to be good, well they might as well be 50-65 good so start winning!

VCU just needs to take care of its own business, secure the A-10 regular season championship/#1 seed and stay in the low 30's regarding Net Ranking. The rest is just forum chatter.

Oregon lost to Michigan tonight. They are 1 spot ahead of us. Could we move up to 36 in the NET later this morning?
