23-24 Opponent Tracking Thread

what scares me is that what we are seeing play out with St Bonnies is where many mid majors find themselves - with the best players demanding more and more in NIL and will use the leverage of entering the portal as a strategy to force the issue

pretty much what coaches have done for decades - leverage good seasons to get large raises or talk to other schools with coach openings to get large raises and contract extension (what most of us here expect Odom to do evenutally - and please I like Odom - this is not a criticism of him )
Contracts and buyouts will be a thing for players eventually.

Let's get him!

I am interested to see if Duquesne promotes Dru Joyce. Dambrot does have an interesting history. Coached LeBron James and Dru Joyce in high school (also coached Joyce in college). He coached at my father's alma mater Ashland College (now university). He and Shaka were assistants at Akron before he became the Zips head coach. Shaka stayed with him a year or two as his assistant before he left for Clemson. Dambrot won big at Akron. Shaka met him in the first round of an NCAA game. VCU poured it on in that one and won by about 30. Coach Dambrot has coached over 800 games and has a 60%+ in wins.

He was turning over the Duquesne roster before it was cool to turnover the Duquesne roster.

Too bad for St. Joe’s, they went ice cold down the stretch. Good looks, just couldn’t make a thing. Really could’ve won that game (not technically over but feels like it is)
