Recruiting Welcome to VCU Brandon Jennings!

But I am sure he has an exciting collection of dunk video's that will get RN stoked.

That would depend on whether Shulga, Jackson and Bamisile return, and also depending on who may arrive via the portal.

No roster nowadays should be written in anything more permanent than a No. 3 pencil.

Luckily dunking isn’t the only tool
In his shed. Brandon can play some serious D, shoot the rock and find an open man. He’s played some elite high school talent and faired well and never gets rattled. He’s one cool cat. Can’t wait for him to lace them up for us. Let’s GO!!!

I know everyone is excited about Mr. Jennings, and I am, too. However, we should temper expectations a bit. He's not likely to be a major contributor next season.
Agree. Just couole years ago many felt incoming Freshmen Fermin and Fats would get major first year minutes. Why not? Highly talented snd highly touted. Playing at this level, not to mention adjusting to college, creates significant challenges. And then there’s new roosters and the roles coaches need players to embrace. Excited about Jennings, but don’t want unrealistic expectations.

Just wanted to pass this on while it's fresh in my head- just off the phone with a friend of a friend on an unrelated matters topic, and out of the blue they mention VCU Hoops and Brandon, have known him for years, ranting and raving about what a good young man he is, touting his patience, intelligence and how uniquely emotionally sound he is. They told me they know exactly what VCU is in for, but we don't yet. Just passing it on.

Not gonna drink the Koolaide. I'll wait and see.
This person had asked me why people tend to be doubtful about incoming players' abilities/potential impacts in year 1. I told them the impact of moving from HS to D1 is real, that as far as I've ever been able to gather making that transition I've always felt it's much more about what's going on emotionally/mentally, that the stress can take its toll on skills, which tend to be top 4% of HS play. That's when the testimony about his mental ability came thru, which I've noticed first hand. I think it's gonna be what sets him apart. Aside from his skills both on the O and D end, which his D easily matches the O.. he's mature, doesn't get easily shaken by defenders coming at him, still handles the ball well under pressure, and thinks like a true floor general. Many plays were dependent on his fellow players and as far as I can gather (maybe wrong about this) there are/where a lot of underclassmen he was playing with this year. I don't ~think~ it was a senior laden team this season.
