Just days after Joe Bamisile stepped out for his first minutes of the season, and for the second time in as many games, VCU (7-5) debuted a new face on the court.

Sean Bairstow—sidelined since the preseason with a broken foot—followed Head Coach Ryan Odom from Utah State, and was expected to be a key piece in the Rams new game plan.

Suddenly, a Rams team that was stretched thin just two weeks ago, is now boasting a depth chart of impressive magnitude.

After a 2-2 tie, the Rams grabbed the lead and never let go.

Christian Fermin scored the first 6 points for the Rams, followed by 4 points from Michael Belle.

Next up, Bamisile followed up his debut performance with 3 straight baskets—including back-to-back triples.

Fermin finished the night with 11 points and 3 rebounds.

Bamisile netted 14 points and 4 rebounds in only his second appearance of the season.

Bairstow scored 11 points as he found the bottom of the net on 44% of his 9 attempts.

Overall the Rams shot 49% from the floor, including making 7 of their 21 attempts from long range.

The Rams also recorded an assist on 15 of their 27 made baskets.

Jason Nelson dished out a game-high 7 assist for the Rams.

Max Shulga led all scorers with 14 points after connecting on 4 of his 5 attempts from the floor—he also converted all 4 of his free throw attempts.

VCU led the rebounded battle by a 41-32 margin.

Tobi Lawal led the Rams with 7 rebounds on the night.

Kuany Kuany was fifth Ram to score in double digits for the night with his 12 point performance.

Maryland Eastern Shore turned the ball over just 10 times, but the Rams were able to translate that into 15 points.

The Rams return to action on Saturday, December 30th as the take on the Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb. That game is set to tip at 2pm EST and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
