Temple hit a three to open their scoring for the afternoon—it was also the only time they would hold the lead.

Moments later, and for the first time this season, the Rams (6-5) would debut Joe Bamisile on the court to thunderous applause.

Unable to connect on his first attempt, Bamisile went on to make his next three shots—including back-to-back triples to give the Rams an energetic early lead.

Kuany Kuany also contributed a pair of back-to-back triples as the Rams rattled off a 20-3 run.

VCU's defense held the Owls to just 17pts with 4 minutes left in the first half.

Despite the Owls ability to outscore the Rams 47-37 in the second half, VCU was able to manage the pace and style of the game.

VCU led in almost all statistical categories for the afternoon.

Max Shulga and Zeb Jackson tied a game-high with 19 points each.

Kuany Kuany added 12 points and 3 rebounds.

Bamisile rounded out the double-digit scoring crew with 11 points and 2 rebounds in his first 19 minutes of play for the 2023-24 season.

Jackson contributed a team-high 7 assists to the Rams total of 18 overall.

VCU also outscored the Owls 42-32 in the paint—13 of which came off the fastbreak.

Overall, the Rams shot 51% from the floor, 38% from three, and 89% from the free throw line.

The Owls, who took 34 three-pointers, shot 45% from the flloor while going 35% from deep.

VCU will return to action on Friday, Dec 22nd as the Rams host Maryland-Eastern Shore. That game is set to tip at 7pm EST and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
