VCU appears to have landed an experienced big man on the transfer market and it's a name Ram fans will love: Mike Gilmore.
ESPN's Jeff Goodman tweeted tonight that the former VCU forward who left Richmond following his one year of limited play under Will Wade, will make his way back to the capital city after short stints at Miami and Florida Gulf Coast.

Gilmore averaged 11.5 minutes under Wade as a VCU sophomore, transferred to Miami before transferring out midway through his sit out year with the Hurricanes, played this past season alongside fellow former Ram, Antravious Simmions, at FGCU and will be coming back to Richmond to finish his career in the black and gold.

Gilmore averaged 6.6 points and 5.6 rebounds in 18.7 minutes of action per contest this past season at FGCU and finished with a true shooting percentage of 54.4%.
As a sophomore Ram Gilmore saw limited action late in the season before matching a then career-high 12 points against Oklahoma in the 2016 NCAA tournament in 20 minutes off the bench, connecting on all four of his shots including two threes while grabbing eight rebounds in a close loss against the eventual Final 4-bound Sooners.
The addition of the 6'10 forward comes hot off the news of the transfer out of 6'9 freshman, Lewis Djonkam.
Gilmore returns to VCU as a stretch four who has connected on 34.8% of his threes over his career including a career-best 38.2% three-point mark his final season at VCU. He brings some solid shot-blocking with him back to the Stu, blocking 4.2% of opponents shots this past season at FGCU and has been a very strong defensive rebounder throughout his career, grabbing 28.7% of opponents misses while on the floor this past season at FGCU, good for third overall in the conference.
A nephew of NBA Hall of Famer, Artis Gilmore, Mike was the 77th overall ranked player for the 2014 class by ESPN and initially came to VCU as a part of that season's 14th-ranked recruiting class. Two members of that class, Johnny Williams and Justin Tillman, played all four seasons at VCU while fellow classmate, Terry Larrier, transferred to UConn following the departure of Shaka Smart to Texas.
