RICHMOND, Va. – VCU senior guard Joe Bamisile (Chesterfield, Va.) will be in uniform and will be available to play Saturday when the Rams host Temple at the Stuart C. Siegel Center at 2 p.m.

In light of the temporary restraining order granted in the Northern District of West Virginia, which set aside the NCAA's year-in-residency requirement, Bamisile has been ruled eligible for the next 14 days. VCU will continue to monitor the process to conclusion. An additional hearing is scheduled for Dec. 27. VCU will also host Maryland-Eastern Shore on Dec. 22.

"I'm incredibly excited and thankful to God to finally have the opportunity to play in a game at VCU. This has been a lengthy and emotional process for me and my family, and I'm very grateful to Coach Odom, Ed McLaughlin, our staff, and my teammates for constantly supporting and encouraging me over the last six months," Bamisile said.

"I couldn't be happier for Joe, his family, and our team," said VCU Head Coach Ryan Odom. "Joe has handled a very difficult situation with positivity, determination, and consistency. He has come to practice every day and competed and has stayed ready in case this moment presented itself to him. Hopefully this is the first step to him being fully cleared."

"VCU Athletics appreciates the court seeing the merits of Joe's case and granting the temporary restraining order. More than anything, I'm happy for Joe. He deserves to play the game he loves with his teammates. His positive attitude throughout this process has been beyond remarkable. We will continue to support him and look forward to having him taking the floor in the Siegel Center for the first time this weekend," said VCU Vice President and Director of Athletics Ed McLaughlin.

A 6-foot-4 guard, Bamisile is in his first season at VCU after transferring from Oklahoma, where he averaged 4.0 points and 2.3 rebounds per game last year. Bamisile was named a Third Team All-Atlantic 10 Conference selection in 2021-22 while at George Washington when he averaged 16.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, while shooting .351 (60-of-171) from 3-point range.
