VCU added two more players to their roster this evening with the announcement of Utah State transfers, Max Shulga and Sean Bairstow. Both were starters and key pieces for new VCU Head Coach, Ryan Odom's, 2023 NCAA tournament Utah State team and both will be immediately eligible this upcoming season.

A 6'4 guard out of Kyiv, Ukraine, Shulga averaged 11.9 points for the Aggies this past season and posted an impressive 58.4% true shooting percentage. He scored a career-high 29 points in a February contest against Air Force, a game in which he hit five of his eight three-point attempts. Shulga finished last season with a +5.4 box plus/minus, which ranked better than every player on VCU's team this past season.

Bairstow comes to VCU via Brisbaine, Australia. The 6'9 forward averaged 10.3 points per contest for Utah State this past season, hitting an impressive 37.5% of this threes including a lights out 39.6% in conference games.

The two bring some international flavor to VCU's transfer class that up to this point has had an entirely Richmond, VA look to it, joining local products Jason Nelson (Richmond), Joe Bamisile (Oklahoma) and Roosevelt Wheeler (Louisville) on next year's team.
