VCU (16-5; 7-1 A10) extended their streak to six games with Wednesday nights, 72-52, win over the in-state George Mason Patriots.

The Rams started out rocky as they turned the ball over on the first three possessions. But the Patriots were only able to build a 4-0 cushion before the Rams found their groove on their home court.

At the 15:23 mark in the first half, Jalen DeLoach dunked the ball to break a 7-7 tie. The Rams wouldn't relinquish the lead for the remainder of the night.

While neither team protected the ball very well, VCU faired slightly better with only 17 on the night compared to GMU's 19.

VCU won the battle of the boards with a 35-24 advantage.

Uncharacteristically, Ace Baldwin led the Rams with 9 rebounds on the night. Those boards complemented his 9 points and 7 assists.

The Rams had 16 assists on 25 field goals across 40 minutes of action tonight.

Overall, VCU shot 50% from the floor on 50 attempts—including 7-18 from long distance.

David Shriver continued with his hot shooting of late as he had a team-high 13 points on 3-5 shooting from range, and 4-5 shooting from the free throw line.

Jayden Nunn and Brandon Johns Jr were the only other Rams in double0digit scoring with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

VCU has now won 12 of their last 13 games dating back to Dec. 11th, 2022. The average margin of victory over their last three games has been by 20 points.

The Rams will return to action on Saturday, Jan 28th as they host the Bonnies of St. Bonaventure. That game is set to tip at 6pm and will broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
