Tyler Maye receives release, will transfer from VCU

VCU freshman point guard Tyler Maye made the announcement this afternoon on Twitter that he has received his letter of release from VCU, and will transfer out of the program.

Tyler played an average of 7.4 minutes per game, and averaged 1.4 points per game. He was used frequently throughout the season as a relief to senior point guard Johnny Williams.

With Johnny Williams graduating, the Rams will look to fill the PG position with the likes of Rice transfer Marcus Evans, who sat out this past season due to transfer rules. Malik Crowfield also played some minutes at point guard this season.

Best of luck to Tyler as he continues his college career.
