VCU welcomed their cross town rivals, the Richmond Spiders to the Stu Friday night. Tonight, the Spiders proved to be no contest for the Rams.  Behind leading scoring, junior Ace Baldwin Jr's 18 points, coach Rhoades and company would get the 73-58 win.

VCU got the lead with 10:46 left to go in the first half and they never looked back.  The Rams shot 45% on the night, connecting on 28 of 62 of their shots and 6 of 19 from downtown.

Sophomore Jalen DeLoach, red shirt sophomore Jamir Watkins and sophomore Nick Kern Jr were the only other Rams to score double digits with 10, 11 and 10 respectively.

VCU did a good job handling the ball, turning it over just 7 times on the night to Richmond's 11.  Cleaning up on the glass also helped in the win.  The rams out rebounded the Spiders 40 to 29.

Richmond coach, Chris Mooney, has been sidelined for the remainder of the season, undergoing a heart procedure this week.

VCU will host Saint Louis on Tuesday February 28th.  The game will tip of at 7pm and will be televised on the CBS Sports Network.
